Adaptation is the ability to passively adapt to any environment instantaneously. This adaptation happens all over the body, and does not usually alter appearance.
Limits
Chris
Chris's body is constantly analyzing the environment inside and on itself, and is constantly modifying itself so as to be fully adapted for said environments. This ability is entirely passive, and has no active aspects.
He has demonstrated that the regeneration aspect of rapid cellular regeneration is an aspect of this ability. However, the regeneration granted by this ability is a little different from that granted by rapid cellular regeneration. First off, the repair of mental damage is passive, and the constant repair of physical and mental damage is sped up to the point where it it instantaneous. Also, incorrect healing, where your body heals wrong (Usually to the wrong shape), is not a worry of this fast repair of damage, as the healing factor quickly reshapes the body before repairing the damage done to it. This reshaping takes a few seconds.
Incorrect healing and physical damage usually aren't worries anyway, as the adaptation happens so quickly.
It has been hinted at that this ability is really lung adaptation, but improved. Chris says that his ability was just lung adaptation when he was a little kid, but when he got older, he decided to "push [his] limits," and found that his whole body could adapt, not just his lungs.
Memorable Quotes
"My lungs can adapt to any environment." "My entire body can do that!"
- - Bianca, Chris
"When I was a little kid, I found that my lungs could handle smoke fairly well. I performed tests, and found that my lungs could handle anything I could access. Every time I got my hands on a new substance, I tried it. I realized that my lungs could adapt to any environment. Then, when I was older, I decided to push my limits, see what else could do that. I found that my entire body could do that." "So your ability started at lung adaptation, and then developed into full-body adaptation?" "Either that, or it was full-body adaptation to begin with."
