Theory Citations Notes
Danko will somehow acquire an ability of his own, possibly leading to his demise. None. + Danko has referred to those with abilities as 'animals', so his reality would be severely shaken should he become one of "them".

+ It would be ironic.

Danko is Samson Gray. None. + Danko is called 'The Hunter'. While this nickname could be in reference to being a 'bounty hunter' or something like that, it's also possible that this name comes from a history of taxidermy and animal hunting.

+ Samson Gray seems to be as morally depraved as Danko.
+ Danko is the right age to be Sylar's father.

- Danko doesn't seam to be over 50 years (as Sylar is in mid 30's).
His actor is over 50 years of age. He has all white hair. And Sylar should be just barely 30 or so now.

+ Everything is "connected".
- Danko is portrayed by Zeljko Ivanek. Samson Gray is portrayed by another actor (not mentioned to avoid spoiler).
- Danko seems to have some extensive military-type training. Hardly available to a taxidermist.
Who says Samson was a taxidermist all his life? He could have been in the miliatary and then retired before Sylar was born.

Danko originally had abilities, but had a bad experience with other posthumans and ultimately had his abilities stolen by Arthur Petrelli. "For 20 years I was successful at making people like you not even know that people like them even exist." (Noah)

"Do not presume to know anything about me." (Danko)
+ It would explain who Arthur got his telepathy from.

+ He seems to have a motivation to work against people with abilities that is beyond a strong belief.
+ Angela talks like she knows Danko, so he may be an old acquaintance of the Petrelli family.

- If he was an acquaintance, Nathan would know or remember him.
Maybe he does. He hired nobody other than Danko for his operation.
Did he? Danko seems to have been assigned for the operation by the US government.
Nathan had no idea about anything Arthur and Angela were up to. He couldn't even tell that Linderman was more than a client... so it's easily possible that lesser relations were never seen by Nathan at all.
At some point, Danko will uncover Nathan's status as an evolved human. None. + In Cold Wars, it was alluded that Danko was spying on Nathan.

+ Danko was suspicious of how fast Nathan arrived at his home when Peter had him at gunpoint.

Danko's family or one of his loved ones was killed by an evolved human. None. + This could be the reason why he hates the evolved human so much.
Danko is going to use the operation's exposure in Exposed to turn the population against evolved humans once their existence is revealed - and then turn them against Nathan stating he is trying to stop evolved humans being contained. Then he will gain control of operations in Washington. Danko has been shown to take control of things for himself as of Exposed. + He has been shown as keen to take matters into his own hands.

+ He did not seem bothered about the government plans being exposed, perhaps he feels they would be to the team's advantage.
