Welcome to Heroes Wiki!
Here are a few links to get you started:
- If you are new to Heroes, you might want to start at the New User Portal.
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style.
- If you're ready to get started, Template:Todo lists some ways you can help out.
- Of course, if you have your own idea for a new article, that's great, too.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the Summary field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page you should add --~~~~ or click the signature button.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to the end of your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for an administrator.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
Once again, welcome to Heroes Wiki!
Hey
Just wanted to thank you for some of your contributions. I've noticed that you tend to expand on information that isn't really necessary, which can cause articles to get a bit lengthy. For example, the Cushing article I trimmed down because the information you put wasn't relevant to him. Also, the Meredith Gordon info was already available in episode summaries and in her info box. Also, where did you get the Heroes Evolution note about her? Thanks.--Bob (talk) 18:28, 9 September 2008 (EDT)
- Hi, Thunder77. You have some very nice edits and I like that you're really trying to keep the wiki updated--it's very helpful! Just a word of caution, though--some of your recent contributions have had a bit of speculation in them. Just be careful not to inject your own theories into your edits, but rather stick to the facts and what's been revealed. I know it can be very tempting sometimes! :) If you're not sure of something, feel free to ask, or to leave a message on the talk pages. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:07, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
- Hi, Thunder. You are continuing to be speculative in your edits. There is no proof--or even, really, suggestion--that Gordon Hovey is an LAWR agent, that Micah has stopped his schooling, or the Sparrow has anything at all to do with LAWR or helping evolved humans. Also, saying things like Doyle is a "truely evil man" and that he "finally gained a conscience" is biased. Please utilize discussion pages before adding potentially speculative and theoretical information. Thank you. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:48, 17 April 2009 (EDT)
Formal name
When updating character pages, the formal name is only added if it's different than the article's name. For instance, since Ted Sprague's full name is Theodore Sprague, the formal name should reflect that. But for somebody like Lori Tremmel, that is her formal name, so nothing needs to be inputted for her. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 03:55, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
- Again, please only add the formal name if it's different than the title of the article. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:24, 1 October 2008 (EDT)
Capitalization
Hey there, Thunder. I just wanted to give you a couple of tips because you make a lot of edits--the content is usually very strong, so I wanted to help you a bit with your style, specifically with capitalization. Titles only get capitalized if they're used as part of a proper noun. For instance, Bridget Bailey was an agent for the Company, but Agent Bailey is now dead. Likewise, Agent Bennet is now working with a new agent as a partner. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions...and keep up the good work! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:42, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
- Please stop capitalizing "agent" unless it's used as part of the person's name. "Here comes Agent Thompson" vs. "Thompson is an agent of the Company." -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:03, 24 October 2008 (EDT)
Semicolons
A note about semicolon usage: I think sometimes you're mixing up semicolons and commas. A good rule of thumb is to make sure that the segments of the sentence separated by the semicolon are both sentences that can stand on their own. For instance, Sabine is partnered with Julien Dumont by Bob Bishop; who also tasked Sabine with protecting Dumont. is an incorrect use of the semicolon because "who also tasked Sabine with protecting Dumont" cannot stand on its own as a sentence. A better way to say this would be Sabine is partnered with Julien Dumont by Bob Bishop; Bob tasked Sabine with protecting Dumont. because both segments work as sentences on their own. An even better way would be to keep the original sentence, but to use a comma instead of a semicolon: Sabine is partnered with Julien Dumont by Bob Bishop, who also tasked Sabine with protecting Dumont. Hope that helps. See Help:Style#Colons and Semicolons for more technical info. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:48, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
Speculation
Some of your edits have quite a bit of speculation. For instance, I may be wrong, but I know of no evidence that suggests Angela helped fake Leona's death, or that was associated with the Company's dealings. This is not the first time you have been warned about your edits, and I am afraid that you are ignoring the messages on this page. Please respond back on my talk page about this and the other topics above so that I know you are getting these important messages. Thank you. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:13, 24 April 2009 (EDT)
