I don't think we need this template. Besides the fact that there are some speculative things here (which can be cleaned and removed), I don't see the point of the template. Why can't we just include the information on the page itself? Why do we have to use a template? Are we discouraging people from editing it since it's harder to find than just being able to find it on the actual page? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:54, 1 November 2008 (EDT)

  • I actually made this to make it easier to for editors. This list is on two seperate pages, so all you have to do is edit this template and you can edit both articles. --  PinkKeith (talk) 11:43, 6 November 2008 (EST)
    • How does that make it easier for users to edit? If a casual editor wants to edit it, they'll hit edit, and then they won't see the text they're looking for. It's not really that big a deal, but ultimately, I'm trying to discourage the use of templates when the text on the page would suffice. We seem to be doing it a lot lately, and I'm not understanding why. Wouldn't it make more sense to type the information on mental manipulation, and then include the page (using noinclude tags) on ability loss? Or better yet, wouldn't it make more sense to directly write in information on mental manipulation, and then use a narrative to describe the section on ability loss? This bulleted list looks really out of place on that page, since there only needs to be a synopsis and not a detailed account of how the Haitian's ability works. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:57, 6 November 2008 (EST)
      • Frankly, I don't like the use of non-include tags. It can get very messy and I've seen it before. Perhaps the best answer would be to include a template within the template to update the section. It wouldn't be that difficult to do. It is better to do it this way because people don't always read the information surrounding the <!--- ---> code. Also, this isn't the section that talks about how it works, it is just a list of people who's abilities were interfered with. --  PinkKeith (talk) 12:11, 6 November 2008 (EST)

Abilities that have not been noticeably affected

I added references for when the ability didn't seem to block other abilities.

  1. Flight - He was unable to do block Nathan's ability to fly when the Haitian and Mr. Bennet were trying to talk to him in the episode Hiros. I don't think that this is spectulation since it seems odd to chase him down and then not block his power to flee quickly via flight.
  2. Invisibility - The Haitian uses thermal googles in order to find the invisible Claude in Unexpected

Deletion

I've deleted this template since it's not being used and it contains speculation. If anyone would like it in their userspace, let me know and I'll undelete it and move it there.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:55, 22 February 2009 (EST)
