Jacob "Jake" Dodd is a college student on intern to the Primatech Paper company in Odessa, TX. He has an advanced enhanced memory, with the ability to clearly and quickly understand what he has memorized.

Jake has an enhanced memoryhe is easily able to retain and recall what he reads. he learns skills , languages, and complex information quickly, and without the need for repetition.
His ability also works much like a limited form of adoptive muscle memory which allows him to perfectly replicate, with little practice, any physical feat that he has witnessed; either in person or by watching it on television. He goes into a short trance-like state as he memorizes information in this accelerated manner.
