Screencaps part 2

If you use the screencap site, click on the picture. A bigger version will pop up, and that's the one that would be best to upload. Also, the one thing I didn't mention earlier is using the screencaps from that site also requires that you remove the website name and watermark from the picture. You can get most by cropping, but after that, ya gotta photoshop, smudge, or somehow fanagle the pic. If you can't get it perfectly, that's fine, somebody else will take care of it... But it is a good idea to get the full-size pic. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:04, 9 March 2007 (EST)

  • I'd also add that, if you're using a digital file, either transferred from a DVR or downloaded from a P2P site, I can't endorse a piece of software called Virtual Dub highly enough. It lets you step through the file frame-by-frame, and there are literally dozens of filters available to allow you to do anything from color and gamma correction to resizing and cropping to dewatermarking on the fly. You can even export clips in just about any format, including animated GIFs. It's pretty amazing software, and it's free.--Hardvice (talk) 13:52, 9 March 2007 (EST)
    • Hardvice, you should really get an endorsement package from Virtual Dub. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:33, 9 March 2007 (EST)

Location links on place portals

Hey, Heroe. Just so you know, all the place portals are really cool -- they will link the location if it exists, but will stay black if it doesn't. That way, you can put "Unknown" if you wanted, or a non-linked place (as in the case of Auschwitz, which is in Poland). Adding the links as you did doesn't hurt at all -- I just want to let you know for future reference, so you understand why they're black and not linked. Thanks for all your hard work, as usual! :) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:46, 13 March 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah, I kinda noticed that half-way through editiing. :p Heroe 21:27, 13 March 2007 (EDT)

Little square things

What exactly are you looking for? If you want the bullets, you can either cut and paste this: • or edit this message to cut and paste the escape code I used. Is that what you're looking for? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:57, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah, thanks! Heroe 22:59, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

Non-citations on Theory Pages

Thanks for cleaning these up, but it's probably a better idea to move the information to the third column rather than just deleting it. That way, you aren't getting rid of somebody's contribution--you're just putting it in the proper place.

User:Heroe/Wiki experiments‎ & image stuff

Okay, check it out now. I'm heading to bed in just a few minutes, so if you need anything, let me know now. Also, a few notes about Image:Stop sign.png and Image:Questionmark.gif ... don't forget to include the source where you got them. Also, it'd be nice if they were the same size, so they don't look all wibbly wobbly on the template. But actually, all the other message templates have two of the same icon. I guess you could do whatever you want, but if you choose to go with just one icon, I suggest the question mark. Finally, the image causes a bunch of whitespace around the question mark in the template--you can avoid this by filling it in with the exact color of the template flag and then reuploading. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:08, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

Your theory on Mr. Bennet's name.

Where did you come up with your theory and why do you think that HRG stands for something other than what is known to be true. Tim Kring's original script for the pilot listed this character's name only as "H.R.G." — standing for Horn-Rimmed Glasses. Bennet was also referred to on posting boards as "HRG" before he was given a name.

  • Oh, it's just one of those fun little theories. See the theories for waffles. :) Heroe(talk) 22:15, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

Well in that case Mr. Bennet is actually a transexual shape-shifter from the planet Opulon-7 and HRG is a typo his name is supposed to be Hug. It is fun to make up stuff with no valid reasoning.

  • Go ahead and add that if you want. :) Heroe(talk) 22:43, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

Good times, noodle salad

Glad you like the quote ... It's from As Good as It Gets -- great underrated Jack Nicholson line. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:59, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

  • Actually, I believe Jack was in character as Melvin Udall when he said it. :) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:27, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Not a big deal

Huhu, I feel you a little bit... stressed! That's coooooooooooooooooooool! :) Don't worry, be happy ! :) What Citizen did is useless but not a matter, admins will delete the page/file ! We should celebrate users contributions, good or bad! :P </useless post> -- FrenchFlo (talk)        20:26, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Image sources

Hey, Heroe ... Don't forget to add a source for those last three images you uploaded. Thanks! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:13, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

Weird sig

Huh. Whenever I type my sig, it comes out as purple instead of green. Heroe(talk) 11:07, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

  • That's because you don't have your span set up correctly. You have <span style="color=green;">Heroe</span>, and it should be <span style="color:green">Heroe</span> which will result in this: Heroe. All ya gotta do is take out the equal sign and replace it with a colon. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:01, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

Superfluous

... is also a favorite of mine. One of my email addresses starts "superfluousjunk". — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:11, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

  • The problem is, you can never use the word "superflous" in a sentence without it seeming superflous. :) Heroe!(talk) 22:02, 4 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Here's it used in a sentence, "The third u in "superfluous" is not superfluous."  ;) (Admin 22:07, 4 April 2007 (EDT))

Spoilers

Spoilers do in fact need to be confined to only spoiler articles. See Help:Spoilers.--Hardvice (talk) 19:28, 12 April 2007 (EDT)

  • But don't we allow information from promos, which are techically spoilers? Heroe!(talk) 20:16, 12 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Right now, the only references to anything not canon are interviews with the writing staff to explain anything that has taken place. I was tempted to leave in a few Kring interview references, but they referred to "future episodes" or "we will see", so I left those out.--Bob 20:18, 12 April 2007 (EDT)
