Help talk:Layout
We need to make sure Spoilers and Theories sections are last. Because the section heading is added by the template, they break the section edit links for subsequent sections. Navbars and categories are OK after them since they don't have sections. Also, this article isn't currently linked. Is it ready to go? If so, we should add it to Help:Contents and Template:Helpbox.--Hardvice (talk) 01:38, 18 March 2007 (EDT)
- If Spoilers and Theories are to be last, that will mean a lot (40 or 50?) of changes, since usually the External Links come last. (PS, is there no way to make the section headings continuous, even when added by a template? Ugh.)
- Need to add Story Development for Episodes to the headings list. (I'll change it now.)
- Galleries go after Notes and Trivia, I believe. (I'll change it now.)
- The page looks good. Nice job. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:49, 18 March 2007 (EDT)
Rename
To avoid confusion with Help:Style, I recommmend we call this "Help:Article layout".--Hardvice (talk) 02:19, 18 March 2007 (EDT)
- Sounds good to me,
though I think the other help articles are capitalized all the way through: "Help:Article Layout".— RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:37, 18 March 2007 (EDT) - Actually, it's just this one. There's also Help:Standard size, which is lowercase. "Help:Article layout" sounds good. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:39, 18 March 2007 (EDT)
- We can also go with "Help:Layout", which I think goes better with 'Editing' and 'Style'.--Hardvice (talk) 02:47, 18 March 2007 (EDT)
- Either is fine by me. You're right, though, just "Layout" seems to be more consistent. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:59, 18 March 2007 (EDT)
- I'm going to confess that I wouldn't probably notice if the sections on an article were completely out-of-order, apart from "real world" perspective sections being incorrectly North of Notes or "in-world" perspective sections being incorrectly South of Notes. Does the article look complete to you? If so, let's move it to "Layout" so we can add it to the sidebar and Help:Contents and call it a day.--Hardvice (talk) 03:09, 18 March 2007 (EDT)

Article Templates
- Not in the Wiki template sense, which is overkill, but one cool thing we could do with this page is make subpages with sample code, in proper order, for different kinds of pages (items, graphic novels, characters, powers, etc.), with all of the section headings and templates in place, to cut and paste into new articles. I've noticed a lot of people are doing that anyway with existing articles, frequently with unintended bad results (cat sorting under the other article's name, failing to update links in the sidebar, etc.) We can then change the table towards the beginning of this article to have links to the cut-and-paste template pages.--Hardvice (talk) 03:32, 18 March 2007 (EDT)
