Bliss and horror

Well, I'm thinking it's about time to write an article for Guillame's power. There have been some good suggestions, "mood manipulation" and "hormonal manipulation". My only concern with those is that it's really speculative as to what the guy is actually manipulating. It might be a spiritual manipulation, a chemical manipulation, or maybe he's even making their bellies feel full. And we're really getting to the point where we need a name just to write an article. I'm apt to just call it "bliss and horror" since that's the only name that's even been remotely assigned to it. The name has kind of grown on me this past week, and I agree with Ice Vision, we don't have to tweak every power name. A poetic name given to us by the great Joe Kelly is a good name, even if it's just temporary. I think we should go ahead and use it ... for now. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:05, 5 June 2007 (EDT)

• Gotta disagree with you there, Ryan. "Bliss and Horror" works as the description of the power, but not really as the name. I mean, what would we call the past-tense? "Bliss and horrored"? It sounds kinda.. awkward to me. I think we should go with "Emotion manipulation". --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 18:51, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
• I don't know why you would try to find the past tense of the power. Hardly any power name can be "past tensed." (Clairvoyanced? Invisibilitied?) You would do the same for Guillame that you'd do for, say, the Haitian. "He wiped their memories." vs. "He made them feel wonderful." And to be honest, I have strong reservations against "emotion manipulation" because I'm not positive that's what he did to the Tonton Macoutes. Very possible, but it's speculation until we find out more. I'm not saying "bliss and horror" is the end-all be-all name, but we're getting to the point where we really should write an article, and it's the only name we've been given so far. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:17, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
• How about maybe "Person manipulation"? I know that sounds lame, but all we've see Guillame do is manipulate people.Hero!(talk)(contribs) 19:29, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
• I don't know why you're so against "bliss and horror." Yes, it's a bit awkward, but I'm not making up the name--it's mentioned more than once in Village, Part 1. "Person manipulation" is a nice try at being non-speculative, but it really doesn't describe his power at all. I actually think "emotion manipulation" or "mood manipulation" will be fine once we find out more details about the power. But I fear they assume too much right now. I'm just trying to come up with a placeholder name so we can get an article written. The name can be debated and changed very easily after Parts 3 and 4 come out. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:39, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
