Matt's marriage has ended due to Matt realizing the child is not his.	Matt said as much. (The Kindness of Strangers.	• While the question of the baby's paternity was the stated reason for their break-up, the nightmare sequence with the accusing Janice seemed to show that the baby may be Matt's and Matt may know it. Matt will deliver Molly from this condition his father put her in.	Matt's father reveals to Matt that there are advanced uses of their ability. As Mr. Parkman has severely misused his power, the point of the "bag and tag" was to make Matt "safe."
