For consistency, shouldn't it be "Category:Named Graphic Novel Groups"? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:59, 29 February 2008 (EST)
- Um, that's a bit long and we've abbreviated it as GN in some templates so I didn't see a problem with using the shorter version Hardvice suggested here. However, now that the updating will be done using the template it really doesn't matter to me. So if you want to delete both the GN categories, I'll swap the entries to use a non-abbreviated version. All that's required is to update the templates so it's rather simple.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:05, 29 February 2008 (EST)
- Yeah, I'd rather that. If there's only one or two categories on the page, I'm not concerned about the length of the category names. And one of my pet peeves of Memory Alpha (and there are really very few pet peeves I have with the site) is a pervasive use of abbreviations, both in their category names and in their article bodies. For a casual fan like me, it's really difficult to follow sometimes...and I know some pretty ardent Heroes fans who don't even know that there are graphic novels, much less what GN means. In fact, I've sometimes slipped the abbreviation into conversations with the actual graphic novel creators, and they're like, "What's GN mean?", which I kind of chuckle at. I'll delete the categories. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:16, 29 February 2008 (EST)
- LOL. That reminds me of the new cellphone commercial with the mom and her family playing scrabble. Her daughter places ROTFL, and the mom goes hysterical when even grandma uses text messaging acronyms. :) Anyways, the changes look good.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:24, 29 February 2008 (EST)
