The Puppet Master
In chapter 1 of The Puppet Master, Marilyn runs into Mr. Vervoort's office, having seen Vervoort stab himself in the leg with scissors. Eric Doyle claims that Vervoort has "hurt himself", although in actuality, Doyle had forced Vervoort to stab himself.
Later, as Doyle and Lauren talk, Lauren mentions the incident and how Marilyn had told her everything.
In chapter 3 of The Puppet Master, Marilyn asks Doyle where Lauren is, since she didn't show up for work. Doyle replies that they had a fight last night, and that Lauren hasn't been feeling well.
