Gray and Sons ... plural

I'm surprised the name of the shop hasn't started a flood of "OMG PETER IZ SYLAR'S BROTHER" posts on 9thWonders.com yet. Seriously, though: are we supposed to take away from this that Sylar has brother(s), or is it named for perhaps his grandfather, father, and uncle(s)?--Hardvice (talk) 03:53, 29 November 2006 (EST)

  • No, no, it's a typo - it should be "Gray and Suns" - it's a reference to the eclipse, and it means that Sylar has to eat brains everytime the sun is obstructed. :) Ryangibsonstewart 05:13, 29 November 2006 (EST)

Ampersand

Are there any good brains out there that know how to make this page "Gray & Sons" instead of "Gray and Sons"? Minor detail, but all the same ... - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:10, 30 November 2006 (EST)

  • I tried using &, but it still broke. Since an ampersand is the opening character for HTML escape codes, it's not surprising it breaks. My guess is this is why Wikipedia has a policy against special characters in article titles.--Hardvice (talk) 01:14, 30 November 2006 (EST)

Under the trivia section, it says "The picture of the clock on the front window depicts the time 11:53." As far as I can see, there are no hands on the clock on the storefront. Maybe I'm missing something, but I wanted to get a second pair of eyes on this before I edit. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:05, 11 December 2006 (EST)

  • I did the same thing. It's not the window at the front, it's the window behind Brian Davis when he's using his powers (see Image:Powers_brian_davis.jpg. The window at the front seems to have hands, and they seem to be on 11:53, but the shot never pans up far enough to see more than the reverse ends of the hands, so it's really, really hard to tell.--Hardvice (talk) 12:22, 11 December 2006 (EST)
    • Oh hey, you can't see it in that shot, either. It's there, though. I'll get another cap.--Hardvice (talk) 12:23, 11 December 2006 (EST)
      • Okay, I can see like a sliver of a hand in the Brian shot, so I'm convinced. I trust you - no need to get a new shot - you've been slaving over those screencaps all night! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:27, 11 December 2006 (EST)
        • The above image is a lot better. The funny thing is I was totally ready to get rid of that trivia, and I just happened to see it when I was getting the cap of the crystal. We should probably reword it a bit, though. I just checked the front window, turned the brightness way up, and what I thought were the reverse ends of the hands is just more clocks in the background.--Hardvice (talk) 12:31, 11 December 2006 (EST)

Heroes ARG Site

Is it me or is it frustratingly annoying that http://www.grayandsons.com is also the Web site for watchmakers in Florida. *grumble* Bkdelong 21:12, 10 February 2007 (EST)

  • Actually, I think that it is incredibly funny. That, and that NBC really failed to do their homework on the naming; usually they are pretty pedantic about not having fantasy characters named after real-world things. I think the Conan O'Brian show has a bit about it too, that apparently whenever a fake web site is listed on NBC, the corporation tries to purchase it. --Orne 23:24, 10 February 2007 (EST)
  • Incidentally, this makes it definitely not an ARG site. --Orne 23:24, 10 February 2007 (EST)
    • Still, this is too cool of a coincidence not to make a trivia entry out of it.--Hardvice (talk) 23:44, 10 February 2007 (EST)
    • Well, its not the only Heroes/RL crossover. There is a real Primatech, just not paper, on the web.--WolvenSpectre 05:11, 11 February 2007 (EST)
    • I'm glad the website was pointed out in trivia - that's just too awesome to pass up. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:48, 11 February 2007 (EST)

Trivia

Good grief. It's everywhere. I was watching a new episode of "The Batman" called "Seconds" that had a villan who could turn back time with his mind. At the end of the episode, we find out the name of his watch repair company is "Gray and Sons". Coincidence or jaded writers.. 20:55, 11 February 2007 (EST)

  • Ooh, another good one. I'll add it to the trivia. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:04, 11 February 2007 (EST)
