Talk:Mohinder's office

Questions

This looks great. A couple questions:

  1. Do you know the updates to the office? For instance, I know there was a license that was present one week and then wasn't there the next. Is there anything else like that?
  2. I understand that Isaac's paintings can be found in places. Is that part of this space or is that another section of BBC Two's website?
  3. Do you have any screenshots? I'm particularly interested in the symbol on Chandra's laptop. Anything else would be nice to see, too.
  4. The voice of Mohinder's boss on the answering machine--is that a woman or a man. I'm curious because if it's a woman, it is probably the voice of the Chelsea Cab Company boss.
  5. Do you have dates for any of the entries?
  6. Does the site actually list "empathic mimicry" for Peter's power? I'd find that interesting because we sort of decided on that name after some lengthy discussions. Hmm.

All in all, fantasic job on this page. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:19, 31 August 2007 (EDT)

  • I'm not in for long, but I will answer the questions I can.
    1. No, I do not know the updates for the office, unfortunately.
    2. Isaac's paintings are in both Isaac's and Peter's games. I have seen the Eclipse painting on the newspaper, and the fifth issue of 9th Wonders! on a chair, but that is it.
    3. I will get screenshots when I return from the cinema.
    4. There is no voice, but the text box is there.
    5. The dates of the entries will be the same as the updates to the entire site.
    6. Yes, it does list Peter's power as "empathic mimicry". --DocM 12:59, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
    • Great, thanks for those updates, that helps a lot. Thanks for all your work on this. I'd do more of it myself, but unfortunately non-UK citizens can't access everything on the site. Enjoy the cinema! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:07, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
      • It's not the cinema anymore - it's poker at some guy's house. I'll also add all the games when I return. Seriously - the games are insanely hard. --DocM 13:28, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
        • Cool, I'm anxious to see them....Are the games part of Mohinder's office, or are they separate? If they're separate, we might want to think of making a generic page for the BBC Two content. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:08, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
        • Some more questions:
          1. I understand there's a newspaper with articles about Chandra's death and Isaac's gallery exhibition. Do you have copies of these articles?
          2. Could you tell us the actual transcription of the answering machine messages?
          3. I'm excited to hear about the games. I read that there's one with maggots and shrieking spiders that jump out at you, is that right? Very cool
        • Thanks for your help, DocM. I hope I'm not draining you as a resource. Whatever you can find out, great. Take your time, though. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:49, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
          • I'm back. It's about 11:45PM, so I will leave the rest of the article for tomorrow. I have a free day then, and I'm watching House right now. In answer to your questions:
            1. The newspaper article has information about Isaac's gallery exhibition and an advertisement for Grey and Sons (spelt that way due to the English). No mentions of Chandra's death - could have been there first before being replaced by Isaac's gallery.
            2. The answering machine messages are exactly the same as the ones heard in Don't Look Back (Nathan's and Sylar's). I will, however, get you a transcript of the cab person tomorrow.
            3. The games are accessed via the map - it's the only way to get to the games. Isaac's and Peter's games have the maggots and spiders, which is very annoying when you're trying to paint a train derailment (Isaac) or Sylar killing Jackie (Peter). --DocM 18:50, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
            • Perfect, thanks. I have somebody on 9th Wonders who is also looking some stuff up for me. If he does, I'll update the page tonight. Whatever is missing, you can fill in. Thanks for all your help. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:13, 31 August 2007 (EDT)

Accessibility

Question: Why is this accessible only thru Brigit Bailey's talk page?--SacValleyDweller 15:07, 31 August 2007 (EDT)

  • DocM decided to make it a user subpage before moving it into the mainspace. There's a few things missing, but I don't think it would hurt to move it as it is. Then we could link it correctly...though it does raise the question of whether the BBC Two content is really considered Heroes 360 or if it should go by another name. I'm inclined to call it Heroes 360 content for the time being. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:33, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
    • I think Heroes 360 will be fine. Can't call it Heroes 240, simply because it's in England, can we? No. No we cannot. Plus, it gives off a little bit more information (such as Bridget Bailey). Plus, it'll probably change when Britain gets season two. Or when Sylar completely destroys Mohinder's office. That'll be a fun change to the office. The map will be destroyed, bookshelf. There'll be nothing left but Thompson sat in the corner telling Mohinder "Call me Thompson, for we are many". --DocM 18:50, 31 August 2007 (EDT)
      • Wow, it took me a while to realise, but 3+6+0 = 9. The number 9 even appears in the Heroes 360 title. I'm slow. --DocM 19:18, 31 August 2007 (EDT)

Mohinder the Lizard

I have to find him. And I have no idea where the hell he is. --DocM 17:15, 5 September 2007 (EDT)

Issac

Is the "Issac" in the section "Newspaper" their typo or ours? It should probably be sicced if the former or corrected if the latter.--Hardvice (talk) 15:18, 9 September 2007 (EDT)

  • It's ours. Whoops. --DocM 15:23, 9 September 2007 (EDT)

Research notes

  • Can anyone get pictures of all of the research notes? For one thing, it might be cool to have them as a gallery instead of as text. And for another, I'm curious to see if they used the power names as they are listed, because a lot of them are ones we made up (dream manipulation, mental manipulation, intuitive aptitude). Either we're much better at guessing this stuff than I gave us credit for, or we have a fan in the UK who works on their site.--Hardvice (talk) 15:21, 10 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Oh, whoops. I really need to check my MySpace messages more than twice a year. I got a note from one of the guys developing the BBC web content alerting us to its presence. It's several months old, but I thought I should pass on his message:
Hi Dave,

I've tracked you down from the Heroes Wiki site. I wanted to bung you over a quick mail to point you at some Heroes content you guys haven't spotted yet!!

It's probably because you're US based and so can't see it.

I guess i'd better explain who i am. I'm one of the guys who works at fish in a bottle and we're the team who have been responsible for creating the online Heroes content for the BBC - who are currently showing series 1.

We've created an interactive online experience that you can see at http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/heroes/games/

Unfortunately it's region locked so it's only available to people in the UK currently (though i believe you'll be seeing it in other regions at some stage). I wasn't sure if you've got any UK based contibutors who can see it and add some info to the wiki.

I'd have a go myself but i wouldn't know where to start with a Wiki.

I'd also like to thank all of the contributors to the wiki as it's been a great help to us as we researched Heroes background information for our work.

I hope you enjoy it (if you can see it).

Drew
It's good to know that we were able to help them out. And how awesome is it that some of our choices are now the "official" ones in Britain?--Hardvice (talk) 22:51, 10 October 2007 (EDT)
That's great! I'm so pleased the site was a useful resource for them. :) (Admin 22:57, 10 October 2007 (EDT))
  • I've got some images from the BBC Two site that I haven't uploaded yet. What exactly are you looking for? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:06, 10 October 2007 (EDT)
  • See Image:Micah's File.jpg--I'll crop it later (or somebody else can)--I don't have time tonight. I also don't have the complete set, just a few random ones. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:10, 10 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Actually, that's the only research image I have. The rest are images of the game, the desktop, the map, a newspaper article, that kind of stuff. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:11, 10 October 2007 (EDT)
      • I just grabbed them all. I can edit and upload them shortly. (Admin 23:42, 10 October 2007 (EDT))

Sylar

Before the images were added Sylar's notes were changed, was this changed on the BBC site or was it someone trying to correct the info here?

Sylar

Name: Gray, Gabriel (a.k.a. Sylar)
Age: ?
Ability: Intuitive aptitude
Location: New York
Notes: Sylar appears to be able to tell immediately how things work using sight and sound alone, this ability seems to apply to people too, specifically evolved humans. He can somehow use this knowledge to alter his own body in such a way he gains the ability he's perceived.
