Talk:Portal:Webisodes Crew

From Heroes Wiki

We probably have enough crew members now that we can mirror the organization of Portal:Crew. When I first made these pages, I split them by webisode since that's how Portal:Webisodes Characters and Portal:Webisodes Cast were organized. That makes sense for those portals. This portal should probably be organized into "Portal:Webisodes Writers", "Portal:Webisodes Directors", "Portal:Webisodes Producers", etc. Otherwise, there will be a lot of overlap. We should probably do this sooner than later. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:27, 28 December 2008 (EST)

  • Funnily enough, after I wrote the above suggestion, I had a comment from a crew member about it, but from a different angle. Gregory Manago was concerned why Template:Webisodecrew listed people from Destiny and from Going Postal. If we split it by job function (all the writers together, all the directors together), then we'd still have crew members from different webisodes sharing space. But if we split it by webisode, a crew member like Greg won't be confused...but then there will be tons of overlap as we get more webisodes. I'm a bit torn...but I'm still leaning towards splitting it by job function, and just being very explicit that it's not the writers from one webisode, but from all the webisodes. Kind of like all the writers from all the episodes are in one portal, and all the writers from all the GNs are in one portal. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:58, 29 December 2008 (EST)
    • Or alternatively, you could split up Template:Webisodecrew and give it separate sections for the different webisodes like we do the cast and characters. That way Greg could see on Template:Webisodecrew who was working with him on a particular webisode. If we follow your suggestion, we won't be able to. Also, recall that the webisodes each have a separate storyline and they each have their own crew. The episodes are tied together in volumes or seasons with connecting storylines and crew.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:10, 29 December 2008 (EST)
      • Yeah, it could work either way. Since Greg commented about it, I asked his opinion. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:25, 29 December 2008 (EST)
        • Ok, it will be interesting to hear what he says. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:30, 29 December 2008 (EST)
          • Not that interesting. :) He said either way works. I think I'll just do as you suggested and split up template:webisodecrew. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:19, 30 December 2008 (EST)
            • Wow, that looks really bad! I think I'm going to organize it with all the webisodes writers on one page, all the directors on another, all the producers on another, and probably everybody else on another. That's the logical way to do it, and it matches how we're organizing the rest of the series crew. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:26, 31 December 2008 (EST)
