Talk:Steve Donner

Is this article necessary? The image we have is an image of Sylar, not of Donner. Plus, Donner never had a character history. I think a redirect to Sylar or deletion of the page altogether would be good (we don't have a character page for the female coroner, do we). --Radicell 06:43, 11 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Yeah I completely agree with you, I think we should just redirect in case anyone comes looking for Donner, not knowing it's Sylar.--Steely McBeam - (talk) 06:54, 11 April 2009 (EDT)
    • But Steve Donner is a character in Heroes. The image may be of Sylar, but it's the only picture we have of what Donner looks like. It's the same situation with somebody like Mr. Campbell. That's actually a picture of Candice, and I'm sure Crash's father doesn't really look like that monstrous version of himself, but it's the closest thing we have to what he looks like. I think this page is an absolutely valid article about an absolutely valid character. I'm also a little disappointed that this page was moved without ever being advertised with a rename tag or anything. I'll add the rename tag so it can be properly discussed first. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:14, 18 April 2009 (EDT)
    • I would call that "preemptive spoiler" when you follow a story and get the conclusion right with the name. I am not happy to find two people with evsdropr just by redirecting. Also I find it difficult to take the shape of somebody who does not even exist! So I think it should stay and lead to Sylar but not automatically. Juba 09:26, 18 April 2009
      • The article under its current state looks much better. (Apologies for the blatant move.) --Radicell 10:28, 18 April 2009 (EDT)
        • No worries, Radicell--and I'm sorry if I was a bit harsh in my comment above. You know I've always appreciated your work on the wiki, especially when it comes to characters. I wasn't trying to point a finger at anybody, I was just trying to make sure we go through proper processes before moving or redirecting articles (a reminder for me as much as for anybody else--I'm certainly guilty of moving pages with minimal discussion, too!). But you're right, after I read the article, it didn't contain Donner's history, but Sylar's (and more than just Sylar's, too). I completely understand where the desire to redirect it was coming from. But rather than redirecting to another article, would it be okay to keep the article with Donner's actual history (as opposed to Sylar's history)? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:13, 18 April 2009 (EDT)
          • Yep, I see that that's what's been done right now, so I'm completely fine with the article existing as is. I'll remove the rename tag after a while if no one has further opinions in favor of redirecting the article. --Radicell 08:49, 20 April 2009 (EDT)

Can we not assume he's dead?

That's what Sylar does to take their place in Building 26 isn't it? He kills them so he can take their place, so isn't Donner dead? --mc_hammark 13:32, 8 September 2009 (EDT)

  • Not necessarily, nothing is confirmed, he could have, I don't know, kept them captive somewhere so he could torture them for his own leisure or something along those lines. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 19:02, 8 September 2009 (EDT)
    • It's a good assumption, but it's exactly that--an assumption. We don't assume things when we can avoid it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:32, 8 September 2009 (EDT)
