How does anybody feel about replacing this on the main page with the more streamlined Template:Portalnavmain?--Hardvice (talk) 18:21, 3 March 2007 (EST)

  • I like the original as it has more options immediately visible right on the main page and requires fewer clicks to get to useful information. Is there a reason to reduce the number? (Admin 18:36, 3 March 2007 (EST))
    • Not really. I just still think it's way huge.--Hardvice (talk) 18:41, 3 March 2007 (EST)
      • I'm fickle. Now when I look at the new version there's a cleanliness about it that I like. Nicely separates out the Heroes show portals from the graphic novel portals from the production portals. Though I'm still wondering if Fan Creations and Theories and possibly Spoilers would be better off in their own area. I don't see a problem with them being in the "About the show" portal, though. • In an attempt to sway you, I'll point out that if we add more portals, we'll need to shuffle the big one up a bit, whereas the new, streamlined one is unlikely to change (unless we add, say, Heroes360 as a top-level portal),--Hardvice (talk) 18:59, 3 March 2007 (EST)
          • Well, when we need to add another top level portal I'm definitely be in favor of it. For now I like both the original and the new one almost equally, so I'm curious what others think. (Admin 19:02, 3 March 2007 (EST))
            • Personally, I like more choices, so I prefer portalnav. If one is looking for a more trim version "Fan Creations" and "Production" could be cut for 2 rows of 5. "Themes" could also be axed for a 3x3 bar. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:58, 3 March 2007 (EST)
              • The width is fine. It's the height I think looks clunky. It's less a bar and more a box.--Hardvice (talk) 20:32, 3 March 2007 (EST)
                • Then you definitely want to keep more choices there. I think it looks like a bar, just one with two rows. If you're looking to make it more of a bar, could you cut out those three I mentioned above and make one row of 9? If it doesn't fit, I still think a bar of 2 rows is just fine. :) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:44, 3 March 2007 (EST)
