This page is the questions for Ryan Gibson Stewart's interview I am conducting for You Tube.
1. So ryan Heroes is into its 4th volume how do you think the season's has been so far ?
- This has been a really strong season. A lot of people didn't like the 3rd volume--the usual complaint is that it was too confusing and just not very exciting. I thought it was dense with story, so I understand the confusion, but it wasn't so confusing that it couldn't be followed. And it's been a very exciting ride. However, the fourth volume has been amazing so far. We're six episodes in and I'm very engaged. There is a very strong, very topical, very riveting central story (the government's initiative to capture evolved humans). There is a great face to evil (Danko). All the extra "stuff" that sometimes bogs down the story seems to have been streamlined. And the new "edgy" style (steadicams, crosscutting, gritty film) fits perfectly.
2. What did you think about the decision to take away Hiro's power and to give Ando his Supercharging Ability ?
- Anything that gives Ando a good story is fine by me. Plus, Ando hasn't lost his humor, and that's important. I'm glad they've gotten rid of Hiro's power. If there's anybody who can be a hero without an ability, it's Hiro. (Peter would be second, but he proved that during Volume Three.) Plus, Hiro's particular ability was very powerful--he essentially had three powers in one (he could teleport, stop time, and time travel). That's probably too powerful. Plus it has the tendency to become a crutch in storytelling. I like that we're going back in time still, but in more creative ways now.
3. How do you think about the writers deicsion to include Sylar's Father, Samson Gray ?
- Awesome. John Glover is a fantastic actor and brought so much to the role. Plus, I totally bought Sylar's genetic link to his ability. I also bought Samson's psychological power over Sylar. Ollie Grigsby really wrote the heck out of those scenes.
4. Who is your Favourite character/Ability.
- Easy: Claude and invisibility. And not because of one another. Claude is an awesome character who is so fully realized by Christopher Eccleston. And when I was younger, I always thought the coolest ability in the world to have would be invisibility.
5. Tell me a bit about yourself,Job, Name e.g
- I'm a teacher. I've been teaching for six years now. I teach sixth grade across the street from my house. I'm also a certified massage therapist and I am the director of a summer camp for Boy Scouts. I have a wonderful wife and three handsome sons.
6. How do you help contribute to the Wiki
- It's probably easier to tell you what I don't do. :) I'm not that big into editing Theory pages, and I don't try too hard to fix up Spoiler pages. I don't find myself writing too many episode or character summaries, either. I enjoy working with templates and fixing up portals. I'm very big on standardization and making sure that little things like punctuation, capitalization, etc. are the consistent throughout the site. God is in the details. One thing I've always been fascinated with is language. I love grammar and syntax, and I love how sounds and inflections create words and meanings. Ultimately, to answer your question, I do whatever is needed around the wiki, be it cleaning up images, contributing to discussions pages, contacting crew members about what city they were born in, or removing unneeded whitespace from pages.
7. Anything Else you want to say :)
- I love Heroes, but it's not my favorite show. Lost is. But I love Heroes Wiki. If doing family history research on the internet was my first introduction to the web, then Heroes Wiki was graduation to full-fledged cyber-geekdom. I love being part of a community, I love the fact that I work with people everyday that I have never met (and probably will never meet), and I love that I learn new ways to solve challenges. Heroes Wiki has afforded me great opportunities to talk to some pretty cool people in the Heroes cast and crew, and even to be written in to Easter Eggs on occasion.
Thank you Ryan :) Gabriel Bishop 09:38, 18 March 2009 (EDT) Gabriel Bishop
