The VonDrexler Nest is a ruthless, ravenous clan (or coven) of vampires, who refuse to give up their pursuit once they set their eyes on prey...

History

The VonDrexler Nest is a ruthless group of vampires. Their group started with just the family, Lucius, Evelyn, Lucas and Molly. In fact, until 1778, they would live their lives as totally human in Transylvania, a land that had yet to understand the impending threat of vampires. It was that year, in fact, that they would meet a Lord Silas Grey, for some important business that he supposedly had to conduct with Lucius, the patriarch of the VonDrexler Family, on behalf of the Queen of England. With the rain coming in heavily that day, however, it was decided that he would stay the night, during which time he went room to room, biting all of the VonDrexlers in their beds (getting Lucius and Evelyn first, then Lucas, and finally Molly). When asked later by a certain interviewer who had encountered other vampires in the past, and hoped to study them, Silas admitted that he was going through one of his "mad spells", as he called them, and therefore, had no real reason to bite them other than the fact that he knew it would turn them into what he was...a vampire(he wasn't hungry; he'd eaten earlier).

After the four underwent the process to become vampires, they started out trying to live "life" as normally as possible, with a few exceptions. First, they would have to deal with the fact that, aside from their "normal" Vampirism, they had developed other abilities as well (Lucius gained the power to psychically induce fear, Evelyn gained the power to cast powerful illusions, Molly gained the power to hypnotically charm others and entrance them with her beauty, and Lucas gained the power to go into a feral berserker rage...which he would not discover until later in his life), in addition to the tranformation improving their physiques. These abilities, obviously would have to be put to good use to catch prey. Secondly, they had become dependent on blood and that meant two things...1) they would become more sexually active and much more sociable, in order to lure people back to their manor and eat them, and 2) their servants became prime prospects in case the first option was unavailable. And finally, along with their newfound powers, they had also gained new weaknesses (fortunately, none of them had to find this out from experience).

They all became much more outgoing in all they did; they traveled abroad often, and when they weren't doing that, they would host extravagant parties and social functions (they were rich because of Lucius' status as count, so this did not arouse suspicions). In addition, they'd allied themselves with powerful vampire families, especially the Kreszjyns. Not to mention, now that they'd allied with other vampire families, their parties would serve not only as amusement for the family and friends, but a food sacrifice to please those vampire allies. On the other hand, however, during the times when they weren't traveling, and they weren't hosting a party, their diet still didn't go without. Should a maid catch their hungry eye, or a butler seem a tempting treat that day, they would slaughter them as they saw fit. And with the times being much simpler, it wasn't hard to get people to believe them when they said that their butler deserved to be killed because he looked upon Molly or Evelyn lustfully (and was killed Lucius in a jealous rage), or that a maid was on her way to abscond with their riches (if she turned up dead in the woods)

This charade lasted quite a while...until 1921. In that year, the Americans would come to eastern Europe during WWI. They hadn't even come to investigate the strange happenings and odd occurrences, but rather to make camp in the nearby town (which shall remain unnamed). When the townspeople saw them, however, they thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to let some well-armed outsiders of their problem, in the hope they would be of assistance. And, perhaps coincidently, perhaps by fate, this particular group was being led by a person who refused to dismiss the strange happenings as just old Romanian superstition. Damien Kane bravely led his group to the castles and houses believed to be haunted by ghosts, witches and other, even more insidious things.
