Developed in 1996, Pokémon characters can be found in anime, manga, trading cards, toys, books, and various other media. Pikachu (ピカチュウ) is often considered the most popular (and arguably the most widely recognized) character of the Pokémon creatures. Pikachu is considered the official mascot of the Pokémon world.
