Maarten is Carlos Mendez.	Carlos bears a resemblance to Maarten	+ Carlos was a member of the Group of Twelve. + Maarten worked for the Company and many of the members of the group of twelve have been involved with the Company. - He would have no reason to change his name during his work with the company, the different names indicate that they're different people. + Maarten could just as easily be a nickname. - The artist Travis Kotzebue said that his brother Jordan was the model for Maarten, but Travis "put a cool Burt Reynolds mustache on him". If Maarten was the same person as Carlos, he would've used the actor playing Carlos as the model, not his brother. + The actor could be portraying an older version of Carlos Mendez.
