About
Bhutan is a landlocked nation in the Himalaya Mountains, sandwiched between India and China in South Asia. The Bhutanese call their country Druk Yul (land of the thunder dragon).
Graphic Novel:The Last Shangri-La
Traveler travels to Paro, Bhutan, at Hana's request. He finds it easy to communicate with the locals, perfectly understanding their language, Dzongkha. He visits a small dwelling, but has a terrible accident. He is taken in by Buddhist monks to recover in a temple. While there, he meets someone he believes to be Richard Drucker, and gives him a message from Drucker's niece, Hana.
Graphic Novel:The Golden Goose
Hampton Connolly and Richard Drucker crash in Bhutan. Connolly lives there for fifteen years. When Bob comes searching for Drucker, he interrogates Hampton and kills him by turning him into gold.
Graphic Novel:Hana and Drucker's Plot Discovered
In the Company's computer room, Matt Neuenberg and Elle watch as two unknown files, T. Monk and K. Apila, are sent to their mainframe from Bhutan.
Heroes Evolutions
- A hidden link on primatechpaper.com lists the Kingdom of Bhutan as the location of Richard Drucker. Hana notes that being in Bhutan allows him to be "off grid" and not be "affected by digital noise".
- A file posted on A Hero's Quest notes that Eric Thompson, Sr., traveled to Thimpu, Bhutan's capital, probably in 1987.
Notes
- On January 18, 2008, the Richard Drucker page at NBC.com was updated to read, "In the January 7 graphic novel, a shocking revelation came to light... the man we thought was Richard Drucker was actually his personal pilot, Goose Hampton. The real Richard Drucker died in a plane crash years ago." This means that Traveler's message was delivered to Goose, not Drucker.
Trivia
- The Tiger's Nest Monastery, or Taktshang Goemba, is one of the most famous monateries in Bhutan. The image is included in Richard Drucker's primatechpaper.com file. It's also the picture on a mysterious postcard that contains a message from Drucker.
