In 1986, Noah Bennet, thinking that the repairman has information about someone similar to him, confronts him in a stairwell at gunpoint. The repairman tells Noah that he doesn't know anyone similar to him, but Noah says he doesn't believe him. The repairman hesitates, then emits a seismic burst, knocking Noah back. He charges, ready to engage in hand-to-hand combat, but Noah gets his gun up and shoots him dead.
Noah's tracking and murder of the repairman got the attention of Thompson, leading to Noah's employment at The Company.
The repairman could emit seismic bursts. He used this to throw Noah Bennet off balance.
