Despite the fact they Noah has made it appear they died from carbon monoxide poisoning due to a defective heater, the sheriff believes something more is going on and holds Jeremy in jail based on Jeremy's reputation of strange behavior. Noah and Tracy eventually arrange Jeremy's release but the teenager kills a man as he's escorted out of the police station. Later, the sheriff discovers that Deputy Gill has taken Jeremy out of his cell, but is apparently unaware of what Gill intended.
