The following fan theories are about Annie.

Theories
| Theory | Citations | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Annie knew about Claire's abilities, so she committed suicide to see if she can heal. | None. | + They found the suicide note, which would make sense for Annie to write just in case she can't heal or fly. This would mean that Claire actually missed the note.
+ It's possible in the Heroes universe that Annie was the type of person who would go off killing herself to see if she has an ability.
- Why would the knowledge of Claire's ability make her kill herself?
+ On the contrary, it would make perfect since for Annie to commit suicide. It seems like she's having a hard time in life trying to be all perfect. She seemed troubled when Claire didn't know what so say when she asked her about what kind of plans she had for the future. She also seemed troubled when Claire mentioned G.E.D. That would be a perfect plot for suicide cause when Claire mentioned G.E.D Annie seemed off like she's jealous that Claire found a easier way to enter college while Annie did it the harder way but working hard in school. Annie seems like she's the type of person who hides her true emotions [example: suicidal thoughts].
|
| Annie was drunk and jumped out the window. | None. | + She was at a party in college. + There was a suicide note. Annie could have written it when she was drunk. |
| Annie was murdered by Gretchen. | None. | + Claire couldn't find the suicide note in the first place, maybe because it was put there by Gretchen after Claire left. - Gretchen has no reason to kill Annie.
- It would be very stupid of Gretchen to try solving Annie's supposed murder if she was the killer.
+ Gretchen seemed to have become overly attached to Claire after finding out her name. It's possible that she already knew about Claire and so she killed Annie in order to get closer to Claire. |
| Annie was murdered by the detective. | None. | + The suicide note wasn't there when Claire was looking around.
+ She was looking at Claire with a villainous look. Even the way she talked to the people taking photos.
|
| Annie was murdered. | None. | • In a universe where people have abilities, it is near impossible to use normal science to determine one's manner of death. • Claire claims to have not found a suicide note. However, she may have simply overlooked it. |
| Annie was killed in a scuffle with Edgar, who was sent for Claire. | None. | - Annie wasn't mentioned to have been slashed, which is Edgar's way of killing. • Edgar may not have killed her-she may have jumped or fallen out the window. |
| Annie staged her death by using an ability. | None. | + Claire couldn't find the suicide note, so Annie put it there after Claire left. Annie might have an ability of "healing" like Claire does. Which makes sense if Annie got back up and put the suicide note.
+ This would make a perfect plot to isolate Claire. Making Claire solve her death by becoming a suspect. Annie knew Claire would be involved since that's her roommate and if the authorities came, they'd make Claire a suspect which would help her become isolated.
|
| Annie was forced to jump out of the window. | Claire confirmed Annie indeed landed where she had to if she killed herself. | + Telepathy or puppet master can make a person to do anything.
|
| Annie is not dead. | None. | • Several characters thought to be dead were shown to be alive.
+ She may have an ability that makes the person look dead, when she can get back to live at any moment. Maybe it is astral projection, suspended animation or some kind of active regeneration. |
