'''Heroin''' is the name of a highly addictive illegal drug. The chemical mimics endorphins in the human body and thus causes a sense of well-being when entered into the bloodstream. The "high" feeling is very addictive, and can be very destructive to a user's persona as the desire for the drug can overrule other aspects of their lives.

The drug is typically administered intravenously via a syringe. As with any needle-based drug, the syringe needs to be properly sterilized to prevent additional blood-borne infections. Unfortunately, when a substance abuser is addicted, they are more focused on acquiring the "high" and, if sharing needs with other users, the user can become infected with many life-threatening illnesses, such as HIV.
