Annapurna tells Ando that her grandfather is the man she always wanted to please, and it was because of threats to him that she agreed to marry Deepak.
Later, at the wedding, Annapurna's grandfather learns that Annapurna did not want a traditional marriage. He supports her decision because he also wants her to be happy.
