After Sandra Bennet's divorce, she begins a relationship with Doug Douglas. He's as dumb as a bucket of rocks.

Character History

Jump, Push, Fall

In his Washington, DC, apartment, Noah calls Sandra's home. Instead of Sandra answering, a man answers the phone.

Later, Noah tries to convince Peter of the futility of alienating himself, and tells Peter that one day there's a strange man answering his ex-wife's phone.

Thanksgiving

While he talks on the phone to Claire, he asks her to come to Thanksgiving as he doesn't want to be left alone with Sandra and her new boyfriend.

After Noah has proposed a toast, for everyone being there, Doug explains that he and Sandra met because their dogs were attracted to each other. Doug suggests they should go around the table and all say what they're thankful for, he says he's thankful for Mrs. Lovegood and Sandra. Doug is then surprised when Noah tells Sandra that Claire's roommate moved out.

Doug tells Claire that it's normal for people to feel they don't always fit in. He tells her it will all blow over and Claire says it won't. She grabs a knife and cuts open her arm, and Doug faints at the sight of blood.

When Sandra and Doug are getting ready to leave, she apologizes to Sandra, who explains that she convinced Doug that he had an allergic reaction to a peanut.

• Doug has an allergy to peanuts. He describes himself as "legume intolerant". (Thanksgiving)
