Nominate to Merge
When I first linked Tyrannosaurus rex, I meant it to be a redirect to Hiro and the Dinosaur. I think this page should be merged with Hiro and the Dinosaur, rather than just be encyclopedic info on a dinosaur, with redundant info from Hiro and the Dinosaur. Any other opinions? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:13, 4 January 2007 (EST)
- I agree. I dont think there will be too much Heroes-specific info relating to T. Rexes (or would that be T. Reges?) I think it's going to be specifically relevent to the painting and Hiro's encounter. (Admin 15:19, 4 January 2007 (EST))
- Devil's advocate: if Hiro does fight an honest-to-goodness T. rex, he'll need his own page in (I'm guessing) Category:Animals. Of course, we can burn that bridge when we come to it.--Hardvice (talk) 15:20, 4 January 2007 (EST)
Type of Dinosaur
- Ummm.....That dinosaur isn't a T. Rex. To me it resembles a Carnotarus.[1] Heroe 18:16, 4 January 2007 (EST)
- Who knows? He looks more like a T. rex in the graphic novel. I say we just keep him as a T. rex until we find out more. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:35, 4 January 2007 (EST)
- I dont recall, but have they ever said it's a T. Rex that Hiro will encounter? Or have they just said dinosaur? Does Hiro call it a T. Rex? (Admin 18:44, 4 January 2007 (EST))
- No, he just says dinosaur, IIRC. I'm not opposed to changing the name of the article to "Dinosaur". - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:32, 4 January 2007 (EST)

- Well should we change the title of this article to just "dinosaur" until the species is confirmed --User:Heroe 16:17, 14 January 2007 (EST)
- I agree, but the content will probably have to be rewritten as well to be more generic at this point. (Admin 22:08, 14 January 2007 (EST))
- I reluctantly agree: I agree in principle, but I'm lazy. I'm kind of holding off until next Monday to see if we find anything else out. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:50, 14 January 2007 (EST)

Ready to move
This page can be moved/renamed to Dinosaur, now. I've adjusted the intro so it will work. I don't think I can actually accomplish the feat myself, though. We'll want "Tyrannosaurus rex" to redirect to "Dinosaur" when the move happens. --Ted C 16:20, 19 January 2007 (EST)
- You can do it. Just use the "Move" button at the top of the article page. When you move a page it automatically creates redirects from the old name to the new one just in case anything's still pointing at the old name. (Admin 16:28, 19 January 2007 (EST))
- Mission accomplished, but I have no idea how to change the text of the WikiLink, since it's part of the template. The referenced Wikipedia page is "Tyrannosaurus". --Ted C 16:34, 19 January 2007 (EST)
- All done. BTW - to change the Wikipedia link, just edit the page, go to the reference infobox (at the top of the page), and change wikilink = Tyrannosaurus to wikilink = Dinosaur (or whatever link is appropriate). - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:11, 19 January 2007 (EST)

Back to T. rex
Okay, can we go back to Tyrannosaurus rex now? The video Hiro watches at the Museum of Natural History is definitely of a T. rex. Any objections? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:00, 23 January 2007 (EST)
- None from me. (And while I'm kind of relieved the T-rex scene turned out to be exactly what I expected, I'm also a little sad inside that it wasn't a livin', breathin' dinosaur.)--Hardvice (talk) 01:02, 23 January 2007 (EST)
- We can hug later. I'll move the page now. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:24, 23 January 2007 (EST)
- I dont know about that, Hardvice... that scene may have just been to lull us into thinking he wouldn't actually face a dinosaur. Afterall in the painting the sword is unsheathed, so who knows. :) (Admin 01:51, 23 January 2007 (EST))
- I still think there's a lot more in store for a Hiro/T rex faceoff. Go ahead and make put the pic on the prophecy page, absolutely, but I think there'll be another scene. If not, then I'll beat up a prison guard. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:04, 23 January 2007 (EST)
- Yes,but the model Hiro stood in front of in the museum isn't a t-rex adn is the one depicted in the painting Heroe 17:16, 23 January 2007 (EST)
- Yeah, that's what I thought - it didn't look like a T. rex. I can't confirm what species it is, though. Hmmm. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:54, 23 January 2007 (EST)
- They filmed that scene at the Los Angeles Natural History Museum according to one of the commentaries. The museum just happens to have a "dramatic model of a ... Carnotaurus", but only a skeleton of T. Rex. This dinosaur enthusiast seemed pretty excited to see the Carnotaurus too.. and one of his buddies says the dino in the video is actually a Aucasaurus garridoi.. so there may not have actually ever been a Tyrannosaurus on Heroes haha --Frantik (Talk) 09:44, 20 February 2007 (EST)

- Here's a pic of the the Carnotaurus at the LA Museum.. looks like Hiro's dino to me :) --Frantik (Talk) 09:55, 20 February 2007 (EST)
- Yeah, I've been having a nagging feeling we ought to change this back to just "Dinosaur". Even Tim Sale said he thinks he used a carotaurus as a model. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:33, 20 February 2007 (EST)

CBR
- Wow, the new CBR interview makes it sound like that really was the payoff for the painting. Bummer.--Hardvice (talk) 01:34, 1 February 2007 (EST)
- Yeah, I agree. Too bad, that could've been really cool for Hiro to go back that far in time. Oh well. Now, I'm just waiting for the next prophetic painting. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:42, 1 February 2007 (EST)
- Yeah, kind of surprising, but really, I guess I'm glad. I mean, it was starting to become LOST-ish: "Maybe Mr. Eko's not really dead!" --ZyberGoat 01:44, 1 February 2007 (EST)
