Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 3

Dallas and Austin search for a downed plane, and find the Skyhawk outside the village. The crew's mission was to destroy the village, but they were killed instead. Dallas decides to carry out they Skyhawk crew's mission. Austin protests that it is a peaceful Vietnamese village, but Dallas counters that it is used to grow food to supply the Viet Cong who are fighting in the war. Dallas persuades Austin to destroy the village.

Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 4

A young girl seemingly causes plants to sprout quickly out of the ground. Dallas and Austin rig C4 explosives around the village. As they explode, Dallas realizes that the mission was to kill the girl, not destroy the village.

Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 5

After destroying much of the village, Dallas shoots Au Co and restrains Austin, preventing him from healing her.

Trivia

  • Au Co is named after a mythological fairy who, in Vietnamese legend, married a dragon and gave birth to the Bach Viet, the first Vietnamese people.
