At the local cantina, Claire and Nathan discuss what to do next. Nathan decides to gamble to make ends meet, and challenges a group of guys to a tequila-drinking game. After Nathan passes out, Claire challenges the winner herself. Her ability allows her to catch up with his previous 22 shots, and when he collapses, she wins the bet, taking the money and leading Nathan back to their motel.
