Born Gabriel Gray, the son of a watchmaker always dreamed of bigger things, of being "special". Adopting the name "Sylar," he becomes a mass murderer, targeting [[evolved humans]] with [[abilities]], but doesn't discriminate against killing anybody who stands in his way. At [[Union Wells High School]]'s [[Homecoming (event)|Homecoming]], Sylar fails at capturing [[Claire Bennet]]'s [[regeneration|power]] when [[Peter Petrelli]] intervenes.
