Ability Naming Conventions
The following sources are used for determining evolved human ability names, in order:
1. Canon Sources Episodes
2. Near-canon Sources Webisodes,
Graphic Novels,
iStories,
Heroes Evolutions
3. Secondary Sources Episode commentary,
Interviews,
Heroes: Survival
4. Common names for abilities
Names from other works
5. Descriptions of abilities Descriptions
6. Possessor's name If no non-speculative
description is possible

Note: The highlighted row represents the level of the source used to determine technopathy's name.
Source/Explanation
Based on use in other works.

Manipulate Technology or Electronics

I read the article, and I believe the word "technology" is inappropriate. Micah has so far only worked with electronic equipment. Unless we have an indication that he could at the very least fix a mechanical watch, I think we shouldn't be so very broad. -- Cuardin 23:16, 6 January 2007 (EST)

I think that's a good move. Technology is the application of science, which Micah is not manipulating. He manipulates individual electronic devices. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:36, 6 January 2007 (EST)

Examples of Micah's Power

I disagree that there has only been one case of Micah's technopathy. Now, Micah is described as an extraordinarilly smart kid, but I believe that when he is rebuilding his computer in Genesis, that goes beyond simply being "smart". --Cuardin 14:26, 17 December 2006 (EST)

I agree - my bad that I omitted it. (It's been so long since I've seen Genesis!) I think you were right to place the reference in the notes, though, since it's definitely not an overt example of power exertion. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:12, 17 December 2006 (EST)

Hana

How is Hana's power related to this? I am putting a see also category at the bottom of each page -Zeckalpha 19:51, 25 February 2007 (EST)

  • Why do we need a "See Also" section when there's a navbar with links to all the powers just below it? Other than the fact that both affect technology, is there any reason to presume that Hana's and Micah's powers are any more related than, say, Matt's and the Haitian's?--Hardvice (talk) 22:00, 25 February 2007 (EST)
    • Good point, but I find the descriptions of both of these powers too similar. In the show/comics their powers are more different than the articles describe them as being. I don't know how to make the necessary changes that make them more distinct. -Zeckalpha 22:05, 25 February 2007 (EST)
      • We have corresponding notes on empathic mimicry and power theft somewhat distinguishing the two "acquisions" (thought that was more relevant when they were called "power mimicry" and "power absorption"). I don't think it would hurt to have a note on technopathy and EDT (or whatever we call it) saying something to the effect of, "Technopathy should not be confused with electronic data trasception, Hana's power to wirelessly transmit and receive electronic communication". — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:28, 26 February 2007 (EST)

Drainage

Did Micah appear drained from using his power or did he just want to go home? I didn't "get" that the power was draining at all. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:07, 16 May 2007 (EDT)

  • I'm still not buying that Micah was "drained" after using his power. I got that he was bored, and that he wanted to go home, but not that the power drained him. I would say that line is pretty speculative and possibly wrong. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:20, 11 June 2007 (EDT)
  • It looked to me like he felt "drained" and combined with Candace's response that's how I interpreted it, but I agree it's debatable and I don't think it would hurt the article to take it out. (Admin 17:35, 11 June 2007 (EDT))
    • Right, I see where y'all are coming from. My wife firmly believes it drains the user. It's certainly possible, I just think it's a big jump to make. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:51, 11 June 2007 (EDT)
      • has anyone noticed how Matt has bled from his nose, what twice now? and Alejandro is exerting himself when fixing Maya's victims. why wouldnt Micah, a little boy, be strained from using his power to not just affect the computer in front of him, but computers all over that network? he may have not been bleeding from his nose, but i think he was drained.--DawnTreader 03:46, 31 October 2007 (EDT)

Peter Petrelli

In the last episode of season one, Peter is been seen on the square nearby Micah, so doesn't Peter also posess this power? (If he didn't died)--Lothario 03:44, 17 September 2007 (EDT)

  • Very possibly, but he has never exhibited the power. Until he does, we do not assume he has absorbed the power. However, it is listed as one of the powers to which he has been exposed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 05:35, 17 September 2007 (EDT)

Use of power without direct contact

In the season finale for season two would I be right to assume that Micah used his power without direct contact with the object. The scene where he and his mother are going down the street and he says that he told the traffic light to change.--Iceman 13:51, 5 December 2007 (EST)
