Ability implanting is the ability to give other people abilities.
Limits
Mr. Dood
Mr. Dood is quite skilled with his ability, being able to give anybody any ability at will. He has stated and demonstrated that his ability, like Arthur Petrelli's ability, or his son's ability, requires physical contact and active concentration. Mr. Dood has stated that his ability doesn't work through clothes, and he has also only used his ability when in direct, skin-to-skin contact with somebody.
He can give abilities to people who already have abilities, shown when he implants random mimicry into ERROR, who already had intuitive aptitude. He was also theorized to implant empathic mimicry into Sylar, but this theory has been confirmed to be false, as Sylar has been confirmed to not hold empathic mimicry. If he does so before they manifest their ability, then they only partially manifest their original ability until the bestowed ability fades. When it does, the original ability fully manifests. This may be how Matt Parkman gained precognition, though the ability must have been given after he manifested, because otherwise, he would only have partially manifested telepathy.
When Mr. Dood uses his ability on somebody, he can choose what ability they get. However, he can only give one ability per person, and given abilities are considered separate from all of the other abilities owned by the person, and is considered one of their innate abilities. Also, this ability does not alter blood chemistry. If Mr. Dood gives an ability to somebody that they wouldn't get from the formula, their gained ability will fade away after a while. How long this "while" is gets longer as Mr. Dood's skill increases. His current time limit is fourteen years. Fading abilities fade away with all abilities gained with the fading ability.
Mr. Dood cannot give himself an ability, though he can give other people his ability. Also, bestowed abilities are considered synthetic. He also claims to be capable of giving an "incomplete" ability, i.e. an ability with a mutation. However, he has not demonstrated this capability.
