Not-so Recent Discussions:

Yo.

Please stop changing everything back to -kinesis. The names were fine, and cluttering up a page that's already on the brink of destruction with -kinesis's is bad juju. Keep in mind that KINESIS is the movement of something, and half the Kinesis's you made are NOT kinesis's, but general manipulations.--Riddler 21:04, 7 November 2007 (EST)

Note

  • Hi, Shadowwulf1. Please don't delete discussions from talk pages. All discussions should remain for posterity. Thanks! (Admin 21:15, 7 November 2007 (EST))

GLADLY

That's fine, but Riddler should also be reprimanded for making unnecessary changes to articles because they don't fit his "proper" definition of a "-kinesis". Get him for doing that, and I won't erase his remarks, otherwise, they're gone. His contributions are unnecessary.--Shadowulf1 (talk) 21:18, 7 November 2007 (EST)

  • I said please. -.---Riddler 21:20, 7 November 2007 (EST)

There's nothing wrong with making changes...as long as they're necessary. I could see if you deleted an article if it was vulgar or incorrectly formatted, but names are, as the admin put it, moot.--Shadowulf1 (talk) 21:28, 7 November 2007 (EST)

    • Changes weren't necessary, hence my posting a message. For the record, to reply to someone, you don't need to make a whole new section. Just click edit and add what you need to say.--Riddler 21:31, 7 November 2007 (EST)
  • No one is being reprimanded. :) The fan powers page will be changing very very soon so hopefully this will become moot. As for talk pages, it's against policy here to delete valid discussions so they'll have to remain. Thanks! (Admin 21:22, 7 November 2007 (EST))

Not what I meant

I only meant that he shouldn't try to justify an unnecessary change. I wasn't actually intending on removing his entry again.--Shadowulf1 (talk) 21:28, 7 November 2007 (EST)

  • Ah, I understand now. Yeah, that Fan Powers page was fundamentally flawed. This will be the first step towards fixing it since now everyone can have their own fan powers and people shouldn't modify the lists belonging to other people. (Admin 21:30, 7 November 2007 (EST))
  • Thanks. To Riddler and Admin, I hope no damage was done, I only intended to be of assistance. No hard feelings. :)--Shadowulf1 (talk) 21:32, 7 November 2007 (EST)
    • None at all! Just trying to help things run more smoothly. :) (Admin 21:33, 7 November 2007 (EST))
  • wait...this Fan Powers can be edited by me, and it's specifically my version of it? Or did I interpret the idea wrong?--Shadowulf1 (talk) 21:37, 7 November 2007 (EST)
    • Also, this story thing you have in here, you know you can make your own subpages right? User:Shadowulf1/nameofpagehere , then just edit as you would a normal new page. That's the premise of the new Fan Powers anyway. =P--Riddler 21:41, 7 November 2007 (EST)
    • Yes, so one example of what you could do is create a page named User:Shadowulf1/Fan Powers and list all the fan powers you want on there. Then at the bottom you can add [[Category:Fan Powers]] and a link to your fan powers page will automatically be added to the main Fan Powers article. (Admin 21:43, 7 November 2007 (EST))
  • oooh. Interesting. I'll do it on my main page.--Shadowulf1 (talk) 21:44, 7 November 2007 (EST)
      • Er... I think you misread. You make your page for powers you've come up with, then you link them in the new Fan Powers. You don't replicate the whole page here, lol. Also, to sign your posts in discusions, click the signature button or type --~~~~--Riddler 21:51, 7 November 2007 (EST)
        • It doesn't matter, actually. Everyone can handle the powers they want to list however they want. That's the advantage of this approach. :) The category is just a listing of articles about fan powers whether they be individual powers, articles full of powers, etc. (Admin 21:53, 7 November 2007 (EST))
  • thanks y'all. Glad I can help contribute. I'll just link my page when I'm done editing.--Shadowulf1 (talk) 21:58, 7 November 2007 (EST)
    • I was wondering if you'll add certain new powers to the archive (so that this page serves as a suggestion box of sorts) or will it be this page that serves as the addition to the archive?--Shadowulf1 (talk) 14:54, 8 November 2007 (EST)
      • The archive page is just an archive, nothing more will be added to it. All new addition will be to the category. (Admin 15:00, 8 November 2007 (EST))

Images

Hey there. I saw you were asking about how to add images. First, go to Special:Upload to upload the image to Heroes Wiki. Don't forget to add a description, source (even if the source is you), and category. Then, you can add the image to the site as you'd like. If the image is called "Image:Shadowulf1.jpg", then you can add the image to the infobox on your user page by typing "Shadowulf1.jpg" after image=. To add it to an existing gallery, just type Image:Shadowulf1.jpg| with a description after the pipe for your caption. For more information about adding images, see Help:Images. Let me know if you have any trouble or any questions. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:41, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Yo, Admin!!!

Could you please revert the archive back to a space that can be edited? It would be very nice if we could put all the abilities in one place, instead of scattering them all around.I thinkI had an idea and I lost it because I tried to put in on the archive and then when I couldn't I went and did something else. Pwetty pwease wit a cheh-wee on top? (:<)--Shadowulf1 (talk) 21:05, 5 December 2007 (EST)

  • All archives can be edited. Which archive or talk page are you talking about? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:35, 5 December 2007 (EST)
    • Probably Fan_powers/Archive which is locked because it's an immutable archive of fan powers just for reference while they're moved to user subpages. In fact since it's been changed over to user pages for a while now the archive could be deleted entirely at this point, but no changes should be made to that old fan powers page. It's clear that a single page full of fan powers does not work so we won't go back to having people editing a single list. It's obsolete and will go away completely at some point. (Admin 21:39, 5 December 2007 (EST))
  • oh, okay. Just wanted to know if you would use it again, or is that system done. Problem solved. Mission accomplished. TY!--User:Shadowulf1 (talk) 21:41, 5 December 2007 (EST)

Userbox image

Do you need help formatting your userbox image to appear correctly, or do you prefer that it shows up as a link (not an image)?--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:56, 16 December 2007 (EST)

I have no idea how to get it to show up as a small picture. If I can turn it into a small pic, I can get it on that page, but I can't shrink it and the pic is too big.--User:Shadowulf1 (talk) 21:05, 16 December 2007 (EST)

  • In the image= line, type [[Image:34 Krakskul.jpg|200px]] and you should be good to go. Let me know if you need any more help. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:09, 16 December 2007 (EST)
  • thanks :)
    • It looks good now. Another thing you should note is that you haven't been adding your signature/timestamp to your comments when you contribute on a "talk" page. That lets others know the comment was yours and when you left it. To do so, at the end of a comment type --~~~~ or click the signature button to do the typing for you, and then click 'save page'. I'll go ahead and add for you your sigs/timestamps for this page.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:34, 16 December 2007 (EST)
  • alright, thanks.--User:Shadowulf1 (talk) 02:04, 17 December 2007 (EST)

Linda's ability

I changed "Ability Absorption" back to Linda's ability since we really don't know if she actually can absorb others' powers, or if that's just what somebody told her. (Plus, she uses the word "steal", which is very different than absorbing.) In either case, there is a long discussion about it which you can read here--feel free to join in the discussion. Also, you might want to check out this spoiler, since I don't think the non-descriptive "Linda's ability" will be the title of the article much longer. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:02, 20 February 2008 (EST)

Acid generation

  • Consensus is being checked as to whether to return the article to the name of "corrosive fluid generation". If you want to comment on your opinion or why you changed the name, you can do so at Talk:Acid generation.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:30, 7 May 2008 (EDT)

Naming

Um...

User:Shadowulf1 04:30, 11 August 2008 (EDT)I know I've been away for a while, but I read some of the stuff y'all wrote. I'm glad the Fan Powers Archive is just an archive now. Cuz now I added all my ideas to a different website. I hope y'all don't think I'm betraying you or something (not that any of you care) but I saw the site and I figured you might want to see what I've been doing. I guess I'm sort of a mod or an admin now, instead of an underappreciated lackey here. Some of the names of the abilities have been changed, hope ya don't mind. check me out here [1], or maybe try here.

  • I'm not really sure what you're referring to, but needless to say no one's an underappreciated lackey here. Contributions are appreciated by all. And fan powers isn't archived at all, you can still make all of your powers as user subpages. All the same, good luck with the other site. --Bob (talk) 05:23, 11 August 2008 (EDT)
    • Shadowulf1 is referring to the actual Fan powers page which we locked (and will possibly delete eventually) because there was no way to handle contention between fan-created powers and descriptions. Shadowulf1, that's great you found an outlet for your creativity. The fan powers were very interesting, we just ran into the aforementioned issue so it wasn't possible to continue them here. We definitely don't mind, the fan powers are user creations and of course everyone is free to do with them as they please (on other sites). :) (Admin 08:49, 11 August 2008 (EDT))
      • User:Shadowulf1, 12 August 2008 (EDT) If you wanted to put abilities up onto that page, then you could check the activating evolution website. I think it's great. It lets you put up a profile of as many non-canon characters as you like, with people to edit your pages in case there are grammatical errors or vandals. And of course, you wouldn't be abandoning this website, as you would find the like here (which is best for the canaon stuff in the Heroes Universe).

Names

  • Do not rename articles without consensus first. (Admin 19:12, 19 August 2008 (EDT)

Superhuman Power Suggestion List

I moved your power suggestion list to User:Shadowulf1/Superhuman Power Suggestion List. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:37, 7 September 2008 (EDT)

User:Shadowulf1 20:41, 7 September 2008 (EDT) whoa. I had gotten so used to being scolded for changing the names of pages, that I almost got ready to retaliate when I read that you moved my page. But then I read the whole thing. Ok. Thnx for the notification.

User:Shadowulf1/All Superhuman Abilities in a Nutshell

Hey, I notice you make a lot of edits to this page. Is there a way you can reduce the amounts by previewing your edits, or copy over edits from a text editor to this page all at once? It helps reduce the size of the special:recentchanges page, which patrollers and admins patrol. Thanks!--Bob (talk) 16:21, 29 September 2008 (EDT)

People's user pages

I noticed you added a comment on someone's user page. If you want to talk to someone, use their talk page. I moved your comment. Also, I haven't heard a response to my previous question. Is there a way to reduce the number of edits to User:Shadowulf1/All Superhuman Abilities in a Nutshell? I'm not really sure of the purpose of the page, and it's become a member of our long pages, which isn't a good thing (we don't want large pages, because it doesn't view correctly on some browsers). Further, it's clogging up the recent changes pages. I'd like to hear some kind of response from you. Thanks.--Bob (talk) 14:59, 6 October 2008 (EDT)

Response

User:Shadowulf1 15:47, 6 October 2008 (EDT) The purpose of the page is to make my own personal version of the Fan powers/Archive page, and to tell of how I think superhuman abilities should be named and how they should work. I put my info on Moonkea's page because he commented on several additions I had added to the fan powers/Archive page. I just wanted to show him (or her) the new improved articles and he didn't respond when I wrote it on his talk page (which is why I put it on the one page he was BOUND to come across), and I figured that long articles are hardly trouble. If I separate them, I'll have much more trouble finding them. not to sound selfish, but its partly for my own convenience.

  • Sounds good. If someone doesn't respond to something on a talk page, it doesn't mean they didn't see it (such as the last time I wrote you). I'm not saying you should split the page because it's long, I was just curious as to why it's so long. Did you read my suggestion from the previous comment? As a sysop, I patrol a lot of edits, and in any given day, you have about a dozen or more edits to one page. It really clogs up the process, so could you maybe do your edits on a word processor or a text editor, then paste your changes in one big edit? This makes things a lot easier. Thanks for the response. Also, you don't have to make a new section every time you respond, just click the "edit" link for each section and type your response.--Bob (talk) 15:54, 6 October 2008 (EDT)

User:Shadowulf1 16:05, 6 October 2008 (EDT) Srry, I just tend to see errors quickly--AFTER I'm done, if you can believe it. So I just go back, and quickly type in that extra uncrossed t or that undotted i and that's probably why (I like to try to look up new and creative superhuman abilities that I wish would be at least mentioned in Heroes, and editing them is a thing for me to make them that much more awesome. But...I'll try to do better 'bout that. Again, sorry.

Renaming articles

  • Do not rename articles without discussing it on the talk page first to make sure it follows policy and has concensus. (Admin 15:33, 17 October 2008 (EDT))
    • User:Shadowulf1 15:35, 17 October 2008 (EDT) Did the edit not make sense??? I changed no content, save the name of the ability. I didn't change it to disintegration, or vaporiztion or something absurd. I renamed it so that it was gramnmatically accurate. Why is that a problem?
      • The way it's spelled is exactly how it was provided to us in the graphic novel which is why it's named that way. Even grammatical changes require discussion as there's usually a reason for why they're named how they are. (Admin 15:39, 17 October 2008 (EDT))
        • Well maybe I don't need to edit anymore. Everyone always says Im wrong anyway, like Im a frickin idiot, and I never keep any of the edits I make (part of the reason I made my own superhuman abilities page) so I'll just stick to editing my OWN pages (who cares about good grammar and coherent passages, anyway, right?)
