  • Thanks, and yes, good questions. This is a bit of different interview because I've had to go through James's publicist and manager (though he sent me an email, too). • Excellent job, Ryan! I'm pleased we're able to interview the people we have in the past. They're people with great information and stories to tell, but since they're not quite in the limelight they frequently get missed. • Have you seen yourself in the latest comic series? What do you think of your likeness? According to imdb, you're filming two movies in addition to shooting 'Heroes' episodes. • Tim Kring mentioned during Comic-Con that he wanted to encourage the Heroes fan base to be heroes themselves and to give something back. Are there any charities in particular that you're promoting? (Admin 00:40, 23 August 2007 (EDT))
• James, you're one of the few members of the cast that I see performing interviews time after time for different smaller Heroes fan sites and podcasts rather than only interviewing with the larger news sites. I just wanted to express my thanks for devoting so much of your time and attention to interacting with your fans as directly as possible. (Admin 00:40, 23 August 2007 (EDT))
• While you clearly enjoy your role as Ando, do you feel any dis-satisfaction at the Hollywood notion that all Asians seems to be interchangeable, that any Asian race can play any other Asian race? For example, you are a Korean-American playing a Japanese. Garrett Wang, who was Ensign Kim on ST:Voyager was a Chinese-American playing a Korean, and in Memoirs of a Geisha, an international cast from all over Asia, including Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, and more were all playing geishas, which is of course, Japanese. Masi, and Takei are the only exceptions in recent memory (they both get to play Japanese characters). What is your opinion on that?
• How much of an input do you have toward your character, Ando? Or is it all up to the writers?
• Do you speak any Japanese at all? Or is that just phonetic pronounciation and rote memorization for the cameras?
