On their way to California, the Bennets stop at Kenny's Diner for food, including waffles. While there, Noah overhears an officer speaking to a waiter about recent, unexplainable deaths in the area and recognizes the waiter as the culprit.
Later that night, Noah arrives at the diner, bat in hand, looking for Marcus. He finds him in the back alley taking out the trash. Marcus crumples a large metal trash can, and he and Noah engage. Noah is careful to not let him use his ability, grabbing him by the arm and striking him with a bat. He ties Marcus up and gives Bob a call.
