In a cabin in the desert, Hana shows Ted blueprints for the needle.

Ted travels to Billings, MT, and forces his way into the Pharmatech Industrial Building. Inside a room stockpiled with the weapon, Ted is confronted by a Pharmatech scientist who wields one at him in. Ted takes control and demands information about the hypo gun. The scientist tells Ted that the gun is used to tranquilize wild animals, and inject them with a radioactive isotope that allows them to be tracked in turn. Ted, infuriated, burns down the building.
