Is there a way to maybe make this smaller? Something about the size bothers me. Heroe(talk) 10:19, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
- Definitely too tall, but not bad. There's a bit of room on the right, so this can possibly be made into two columns. (Check out how "residences" were done on the old Template:Place). Plus, we can always cut Research, since it's already covered under Template:Research, and Artwork is covered under Template:Isaac's artwork. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:25, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
- I think we now have the final template, what should the realpage name be ? -- FrenchFlo (talk) 10:42, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
- Good call on your changes. But having seen it, I'm having some mixed feelings. I like the idea of the bar, but I still think it's too clunky. Maybe it would be better to just have 8 separate smaller navbars, kind of like what we did with Template:Place, and split it up bit. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:44, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
- Well I've to go soon anyway, so do as you please, and I agree we can copy the style of Template:Place by creating smallnavbar! But I also like the full template :P It isn't really bigger than the Template:Crewnav that is used! -- FrenchFlo (talk) 10:48, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
- What's funny is I was actually thinking we're about ready to split the crewnav bar also. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:57, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
- I've thought about that. The only problem is that most everyone wears multiple hats, so in the end it makes the problem worse in most cases to split them. Tim Kring would go from having one big navbar to having three smaller navbars, but the total height would be worse.--Hardvice (talk) 14:21, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
- My opinion: Cut this one up, leave the crew template alone for now. Ohmyn0(talk)
- Good point, Hardvice. If it were just Tim Kring or a handful of others, then I wouldn't mind. But you're right, many of the directors are writers etc. But before I lied above, I was actually thinking of splitting the GN crew bar, where everybody wears just one hat. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:47, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
- The GN crew bar is not too big yet, except on some of the writers' pages, where they have both Series and GN bars. Would it be possible to make it so anytime a page has both they automatically merge? Or you could have it so it only shows the ones that are needed, possibly hiding the ones that are not with a way to unhide them. -Lөvөl 03:42, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

- I just created every single template for each subcat from the Category:Things. Now we can choose between the full template and the sub templates. -- FrenchFlo (talk)
- I really like the smaller individual ones. Not only do they fit in better with the style of the other navbars, but they're smaller, streamlined, and able to be filled much more before they become cumbersome. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:07, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
- So what should we do, let's +cat each pages with subcat-navbar-template [[Template:Drugs]] [[Template:Items]] etc... And, there is something I don't get, what's the use of this template Template:Place if no pages use it since they use subcar template such as Business, Home, Residence etc... ? -- FrenchFlo (talk) 14:03, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
- We won't need to add any cats since each article already has a cat (though it wouldn't hurt to format the navbar template in such a way that it automatically adds the category). But I do think we should go ahead an make those new templates and add them to the appropriate pages. The only ones that will be weird are the ones that double across categories: for instance, the Skyhawk is both a vehicle and a weapon. Not a problem, just a bit odd. ... As for template:place, it could probably be deleted since it's now obsolete. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:14, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
- And... done! >:) Template:Drugs, Template:Items, Template:Jewelry, Template:Media, Template:Money, Template:Publications, Template:Vehicles, Template:Weapons. A good thing done! Skyhawk is a little weird yeah... I also added the template to each single page. Things should be totally done now. -- FrenchFlo (talk) 16:53, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
- Great job, thanks. I forced a few category sorts (for instance, The Company's guns should sort under C, not T). But I like how they look. Well done! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:40, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
