+ Certain compounds are able to absorb water quickly and with little change in volume. If the body of Fusor's accomplice was able to either produce such compounds (or contained them naturally), it would allow her to rapidly desiccate organic matter.
- + Expansion of the absorbent compounds as they "drank" water could explain why the water vampire's features became less wrinkled and more youthful after using her ability.
