Character History
Angels and Monsters
Sandra looks through Noah's files and finds a reference to him and his ability to "create vortexes that make people disappear forever." Canfield has a wife, Elaine, and an unidentified number of children. He goes to his former home to try to locate his wife, but she has moved out and the place stands empty. He loses his temper and creates a vortex, but quickly shuts it down. Later, he creates a small vortex to disarm Claire. To escape Noah and Sylar, he creates a larger vortex that dissipates after approximately one minute. Later as he goes to a meeting with his wife, who fails to show up out of fear, Noah tries to force him to use his vortex-generation ability to destroy Sylar. Canfield refuses and, with nothing left to live for, creates a vortex that pulls him in.
