Joining a discussion

How do I join a discussion? Do I just go to the top of the page and press edit and then add my statement, or is there some special ritual I have to go through?

  • No, you just do exactly what you did there. Although you need to add a signature at the end. This can be done by typing four tildes (~), or clicking the signature button at the top of the box you are typing in (it's second from the right). - Tristan0709 talk 18:36, 15 December 2008 (EST)

ROTC

Hi. I just read about you being in that program for four years, and I was wondering if you could tell me what it was like. A friend and I are considering joining after we graduate from school. Thanks in advance.--Citizen 00:11, 20 December 2008 (EST)

  • There are different ROTC's or JROTC's for the different U.S. services: Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps. The Coast Guard also has a JROTC program at Mast Academy in Miami. If you're interested in the latter, let me know. I have some friends that went there, but not for the JROTC program. Good luck!--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:16, 20 December 2008 (EST)
  • I was in the Air Force JROTC program all four years in high school and I thought it was terrific. There's no obligation and you learn a ton of useful things. It sounds like you're talking about ROTC, though, which I did not take when I got to college and is quite a bit different. (Admin 01:21, 20 December 2008 (EST))
    • Correct. I did 4 years of JROTC in high school, then got a scholarship for ROTC in college. In college, there's generally an obligation if you have a scholarship. If you don't have one, you can still join, but there's a point in the program where you have to make an obligation. For the Air Force, that is after your sophomore year, when you go to Field Training. Hope that helps.--Bob (new comment) 07:22, 20 December 2008 (EST)
      • I was referring to Air Force ROTC. Thank you both for the details given so far.--Citizen 08:43, 20 December 2008 (EST)

Portuguese wiki

Hello. :) I found this wiki through the NBC website, and i've noticed that there are a lot of articles in the translation queue on the Portuguese wiki. I don't know if there's someone already in charge of those translations, and i really like to help out.
I'll start translating some of them right away, and if there's anything i should know, please let me know.
Thank you. JorgeGuberte 00:52, 21 December 2008 (EST)

Betamax vs IceGhost78

  • Good thing you came. I don't wanna enter the fight and all I did was praying that you guys would somehow log-in to save the day LOL --NiveKJ13 (talk2me) 21:46, 14 March 2009 (EDT)
    • Hah no problem. In the future, just write on one of the admin's talk page, and it'll email one of us. I just happened to be online, so lucky us.--Bob (new comment) 21:48, 14 March 2009 (EDT)
      • Thanks for the tip :D. And by the way, I think Betamax is a multiple account of somehow another blocked user using an IP address changer of somesort because he didn't even bother to create a userpage or even get a welcome sign on the discussion page (this is mostly what they do. Use these accounts to swear or abuse and if they're ever blocked, no efforts will be lost). Those evil geniuses >:SNiveKJ13 (talk2me) 22:01, 14 March 2009 (EDT)
