Brave New World
In the eBook Brave New World, Errol watches Ted Barnes (who is really Noah Bennet) finish up some paperwork. He teases, "Making us look bad, Ted." Errol used to be the "top dog" at Zundermann Motors until Ted came along, but Errol isn't perturbed because Ted is such a nice guy. At first there was some tension, but Ted knew enough to stay away from Errol's best clients, and even gave Errol a few "juicy opportunities". Sometimes Ted and Errol would even go for an occasional beer and ribs after a big sales day.
Errol good-naturedly grumbles that Friedkin says Ted is a lock for Employee of the Month again. Rivera jokes that he's figure out Ted's trick, but Ted says, "No trick. Bag and tag, that's all." Errol then tells Ted that his favorite customer is here. He teases them to "get a room" when they kiss.
Trivia
- Errol's character was originally written into the original script for the episode Brave New World, but the scene was ultimately cut. In a podcast interview, eBook author David Bishop said that the character was unnamed, so Bishop named him after a graduate student from his creative writing class mostly because the real Errol Rivera is from Texas. Bishop said that the real Errol and the character Errol are very different.
