Fan Creation talk:Heroes: The Movie

From Heroes Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

This page has a contradiction on it. First it, says, "Heroes: The Movie is a fan creation, and should not be considered canon." Then it says, "it is also expected to be classed as canon." How can the film possibly be considered canon? It's just a fan film. Fanfic isn't canon.Lorne Johnson 13:18, 1 September 2010 (EDT)

  • It only says "Heroes: The Movie is a fan creation, and should not be considered canon." because that's what appears when you put it in the fan creation section. And I put "it is also expected to be classed as canon." because it is expected that some fans will class it as canon since it's the only conclusion they are going to get. Hundreds of people have already seen the posters and are looking forward to seeing the movie. --Pificus 08:14, 3 September 2010 (EDT)

Delete

I've put this up for deletion as it is still a fan fiction. They do not belong in the mainspace. Even though many fans are looking forward to it, it is still considered fan fiction, and will in no way be considered canon simply because fans think so. The canonicity of it is decided by NBC and/or Tim Kring. Fans have no say. --mc_hammark 11:08, 4 September 2010 (EDT)

  • Also because there has been no confirmation that they will not wrap it up, and the fact it has not been released, it could be cancelled at any point. --mc_hammark 11:11, 4 September 2010 (EDT)
    • It was in the fan creations section, why is it being deleted? And it's pretty much certain there will not be a wrap up movie or mini series by NBC, the show was cancelled months ago and the only news we have so far is that Tim Kring is still hopeful. Also "The canonicity of it is decided by NBC and/or Tim Kring. Fans have no say." Fans can choose whether to class something as canon if they wish, it's just not officially canon. Many Star Wars fans consider the books and games canon but they're not officially canon. --Pificus 16:54, 4 September 2010 (EDT)
      • Once the "movie" is released, then yes, the page would be acceptable, but at this point, all we know is that someone said they were making it. If I was to say that I was going to make an online web series on YouTube to wrap it up, and would get Christopher Eccleston to star in it, would that get a page? No, because there's been nothing produced yet, and it's not official, even though it has a member of the cast in it. Like I said, it could be cancelled at any time. --mc_hammark 15:43, 4 September 2010 (EDT)
        • I'm the one making the movie and I have no plans on ever cancelling this movie, like I said on the page, even if I can't get animators for the movie I will still put my story online in some form for fans to enjoy. I've even got a few CGI programs to make the movie myself just in case I can't find any other animators, but I don't think it will come to that since a professional animator has already told me they'd be more than happy to work on this film once their schedule frees up. And voice actors aren't an issue so the movie will happen, unless NBC decide to make an official one, but like I said that is not going to happen. And there's a difference between this and making a page for a fan series with Christopher Eccleston involved since that would never happen, not that anyone would/should want to even try hiring him. And the only reason I made the page so early in the films development is to spread the word and get a better chance of finding animators. Permission to remove the delete tag? --Pificus 16:49, 4 September 2010 (EDT)
          • No. The discussion is not just between me and you. Other users have to discuss too. The point I made still stands. At the moment, it isn't complete. Who knows what will happen. I mean, any one of us could die tomorrow. Given that it is actually you that is making it, I suggest you place this in the fan fiction section of the wiki. It is better suited there, at least until the movie is made. Also, the point about canon is true. It doesn't matter what the fans think is canon. Kring could come along and write a book that completely dismisses it. You cannot say that is not going to happen, because you do not know. Until NBC officially says that they will not be making anything to do with Heroes, it is still a possibility. Look at Doctor Who. Many fans did not consider the TV movie canon, then the revived series confirmed it was. --mc_hammark 17:02, 4 September 2010 (EDT)
  • I think an upcoming film can have an article if we know enough about it, but until the film is considered canon or near-canon by one of the original series's creators, the article does not belong in the mainspace so I've moved it to Fan Creation namespace. I don't see any reason to delete the article, so I removed the delete tag.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:21, 4 September 2010 (EDT)
    • I don't understand, I put it in the fan creations when I created the page. --Pificus 15:28, 5 September 2010 (EDT)
      • You had added the article in the 'Fan Creations' category, but not the 'Fan Creation' namespace (namespace refers to the words: 'Fan Creation:' preceding the article title). That's fixed now. Hope that helps clarify for you and good luck with the film!--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:48, 7 September 2010 (EDT)
  • Unless I'm mistaken, the only thing that exists about this "fan creation" is a teaser poster. That's not really anything substantial. I think we should move the page to a user page until the movie is produced. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:50, 25 September 2010 (EDT)
    • There's an official forum site for discussion and development info. regarding the fan film. I was thinking it could remain in 'Fan Creation' cause of the existing forum website and cause he's allowing fans to contribute to the film.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:58, 25 September 2010 (EDT)

The ***** known as NBC do not want to release a film so it is up to us the remaining fans to give a closure to the series...Instead of you people complaning you should be grateful that someone sats down to give an ending to the cancelled series

Animation

I have decided that the movie will be made using Blender, the free cgi program. I will download the program and learn it and help animate the movie. If anyone here knows how to use blender and could help animate and make models I would be extremely grateful. --Pificus 16:05, 19 September 2010 (EDT)

Update

Sorry things are taking so long with the project, after completing the film script I decided that Heroes didn't work that well with such a short time frame so I began to rewrite the movie as a 10 episode series. Then I had some problems with my animator and the project stopped development for a while. After ages of trying to come up with something to do I decided that the next best thing would be graphic novels. I am currently doing rewrites to better fit the format. Hopefully that won't take too long, progress will be posted on my Heroes forum, which I have wiped and recreated to be a fan made expanded universe where fans can submit stories to an unofficial canon to keep the heroes world alive. I'm currently looking for an artist if anyone wants to help, I did have an artist for the project but she wanted £10 a page that wouldn't even be coloured, in total it would have cost over £1000. The forum is here --Pificus 13:09, 13 March 2012 (EDT)

  • If there is anyone out there still interested, the forum linked above is now an expanded universe forum for fan fiction all set in the same continuity. The first 4 chapters/episodes of Brave New World are up and another member has uploaded the first 2 chapters of volume 7.--Pificus 11:14, 14 June 2013 (EDT)
