Help talk:Characters
Page Changes
Overall, great job! This looks very good. Does anybody have any suggestions of things they would like to see on this page? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:00, 4 December 2008 (EST)
- Glad it works, thanks for fixing it up a bit. Shouldn't the Template:helpbox be updated to include this link? -- Radicell 09:00, 5 December 2008 (EST)
- Yeah, there's a number of other small things I need to tweak, too. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:47, 5 December 2008 (EST)
- I'd change the Graphic Novels characters section to say: All characters that do not appear in Heroes episodes but do appear in the Heroes graphic novels should be listed as a "Graphic Novel Character". Before that section, I'd add a section: Webisodes characters
All characters that do not appear in Heroes episodes but do appear one or more Heroes online webisodes should be listed as a "Webisode Character". After the Graphic Novels character section, I'd add: Heroes Evolutions characters
All Heroes-related characters that appear online, but not in Heroes episodes, webisodes, or graphic novels should be listed as a "Heroes Evolutions Character".--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:13, 5 December 2008 (EST)- Good suggestions as always, Miami. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:11, 5 December 2008 (EST)
Character Bios
I don't know where to put this, so: Why are the charakter bios not chronological? If someone wants to read the backstory of HRG he has to read all of his episode apprearences... On Lostpedia its chronological and far more fun to read.... --LemonBaby 11:54, 6 December 2009 (EST)
Reborn
Heroes Reborn is a short season (13 episodes), like Season Two (11 episodes). For all seasons, we would consider a character to be recurring after 4 appearances, but Season Two characters were considered recurring after 3 appearances. I would suggest that Heroes Reborn characters are considered recurring after 3 appearances, also. Any comments or opposition? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:12, 2 October 2015 (EDT)
- Nope, all for it. Makes sense especially with the comparison to season 2. -Sincerely, Thrashmeister » talk- 10:25, 2 October 2015 (EDT)
- That makes a lot of sense. Masi and Sendhil were announced as having "recurring roles", even though their characters are only going to appear in three episodes each. Plus, it wouldn't feel right listing either of them as minor characters... -Kon (talk) 11:31, 2 October 2015 (EDT)
- I want to be clear that the "recurring" or "supporting" description don't always match with what actors or NBC says. Principal characters are set by a contract with the actor, so that's indisputable. But "recurring" or "supporting" is more of a judgment thing, and actors and studios usually base that distinction on how "important" a character is to a story. I've seen characters only appear once or twice, but be considered supporting characters because they are really important to story lines. I've also seen shows where characters literally appear in every episode, but they're never listed as more than a minor character because they're not very important to the story. Here at the wiki, we try to take away the judgment part and make the distinction between minor (or guest) and supporting (or recurring) a subjective decision rather than an objective decision. So I'm not sure how many episodes Sendhil or Masi are going to appear in ... but if it's just one, they'll be considered guest actors and minor characters for the season. If it's 3 or more (since that what it sounds like we're settling on), then they'll be considered supporting cast and recurring characters for the season. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:58, 2 October 2015 (EDT)
- Sounds good to me. (Admin (talk) 11:36, 2 October 2015 (EDT))
