Spoiler talk:Samedi

From Heroes Wiki

So "Samedi" is a loa in Voodoo, and is also French for "Saturday" (though I'm not sure on the spelling, it's been a few years). I'd say it'll be cool to see some Heroes return to Haiti.--Bob (talk) 18:36, 18 September 2008 (EDT)

when did this guy apeaer?--Skywalkerrbf 05:46, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

He didn't. So this should technically still be a spoiler. --Pyramidhead 03:31, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

Samedi's Power?

I'm fairly certain that his ability is either Resurrection or Summoning. Resurrection in that even when he is destroyed, he can be reborn sooner or later. It's different than that of regeneration in that you cannot heal but you can come back restored if dead. It too would seem logical that you can not die if decapitated. Or he has the ability of Summoning in that he can control the dead in order to aid him. If this was his ability it would seem logical that the dead he summoned, if they were superhuman, could use their abilities. Personally i think that he is able to resurrect himself as summoning' would be make ultra powerful.--ACDC1989 07:40, 30 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Wouldn't that be cool! Until his power is demonstrated, though, it's just a theory... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:39, 30 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Hey Ryan=) Oh yeah definitely just a theory but considering the name Samedi is similar to that of one of Bond's villians in Live and Let Die it does present itself as a possible Bond reference. And i do believe that Kring once stated that Linderman was the first villian being Dr No, in terms of the films. --ACDC1989 13:38, 30 October 2008 (EDT)
  • I feel the name Baron Samedi does indeed confirm that it's either one of those two abilities. --ACDC1989 08:38, 6 November 2008 (EST)
    • Considering he is a villain, surely he would have a more, for want of a better word, evil power? Tristan0709 02:25, 14 November 2008 (EST)
  • Well he has to have some sort of evil power or else he wouldnt get put in Level 5, so im guessing its Summoning Because he could like summon evil spirits or something--Sylarversion2 19:07, 19 November 2008 (EST)
  • !!!!SPOILERS!!! from nbc epk - They call Semadi a voodoo god, he can control others. He also says his ability is Invincibility, he has Impenetrable skin. --Powermimic 21:25, 19 November 2008 (EST)
  • Recycling of the unused scene of the guy Sylar would have scalped? If true, that's a very lame power. Intuitive Empath 15:33, 20 November 2008 (EST)

The Haitian an Only Child???

So, since spoilers state that Samedi is Haitian's brother, could this be a case (the first?) of information from GNs contradicting information from the main show? Radicell 09:08, 9 November 2008 (EST)

  • Possibly, though he may turn out to be a spiritual brother or something rather than say a blood related brother. --Matchu 11:56, 9 November 2008 (EST)
  • Perhaps Samedi has been believed to be dead? Or maybe the Haitian never knew about Samedi? Maybe Guillame lied to him? There are lots of possible explanations to it. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 12:16, 9 November 2008 (EST)
    • The novels contradict the show all the time! The Haitian and Peter are shown running in the second Daphne novel, and they are both wearing the wrong color clothes. This is one of many examples that come to mind. Tristan0709 02:25, 14 November 2008 (EST)
      • The color of clothes isn't such a big deal... whether or not the Haitian is an only child is significantly more major, in my opinion. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 22:40, 24 November 2008 (EST)
        • It's because they're making it up as they go along. Also, remember the writers strike... --Dumpster juice 22:49, 24 November 2008 (EST)
