- Howabout this: instead of updating this page manually, we add a template, template:currentep. We can use that all over the place to print the name of the current episode, including here, where we redirect to "[[Episode talk:{{currentep}}]]". It would be just as much maintenance as this redirect is now, but we could use it in a lot more places--including automating Current events.--Hardvice (talk) 13:27, 26 October 2007 (EDT)

- We shouldn't use it to update AOTW and GNOW, since those templates need to remain the same until the next episode/graphic novel airs/is released. For example, Hardvice just updated the Currentep to The Line early since the checklist for Fight or Flight was finished. The difference is that Template:Currentep is where we are at in documenting the show. There's no reason to update template:currentep or template:currentgn until the episode or GN is released. - I'm still getting caught up. I guess see that using template:currentep doesn't work for a redirect. Hmm. Well, since the only place I really use this link is on the episode talk pages, I prefer to leave current episode checklist and current graphic novel checklist as redirects to current events. - It's not going to be updated, and using the new template in the redirect doesn't work. If it's brought back, it will need to be in the format of "See [[Episode talk:{{current ep}}]]", not an actual redirect, for it to work.--Hardvice (talk) 15:53, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
- Right, but they should be brought back (Current episode and graphic novel checklist articles). They don't need updating using the dynamic link, and I don't see a reason not to keep them. - A standard redirect would have to be updated manually (the template doesn't work in a redirect at all). That doubles the work every episode, making it no better than doing the two checklists and Current events manually.
