Ability?
What's the source of the information regarding her ability? (Admin (talk) 20:31, 27 September 2015 (EDT))
- I didn't add it so I'm not positive where it came from ... but this article from Entertainment Weekly says that she can "control the elements of earth and sky". I think it fits for now. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:24, 27 September 2015 (EDT)
- Also, Danika said that Malina has the power to harness all of the elements. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:35, 29 September 2015 (EDT)
- Great, thank you. I wasn't aware of that article. (Admin (talk) 14:51, 29 September 2015 (EDT))
- Such a vague ability name... and by all the elements, does that mean earth, wind, air, and fire? Or like... hydrogen, oxygen, helium? LOL! Can't wait to see more specifics on this ability, it seems very interesting. -Sincerely, Thrashmeister » talk- 15:02, 29 September 2015 (EDT)

Reference to Mythology?
So this might be nothing, but I'm wondering whether Malina is any reference to the one of Inuit mythology. In it, she is (becomes) the sun and her brother the moon. First of all we see her dressed like an Inuk, and then we see her controlling the eclipse or something?

Then there's this:
Taking all that into consideration and especially this last image (since she's the sun), I'm actually pretty convinced there has to be some slight reference there. ☺ Flakkenmarsh 09:17, 6 October 2015
- It's entirely possible. It might be anywhere from a strong clue, to a mere reference, or even just us making connections where there are none. To play devil's advocate, I'll add that everybody we've seen in the Arctic has been dressed similarly, and I don't think Harris, for instance, has any part in a significant Inuit mythology, even though he was dressed similarly. But hey, you never know! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:28, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
- Well, what you say is very true... but if she turns out to have a brother named Igaluk or Aningan, we'll talk again. :P ☺ Flakkenmarsh (talk) 11:49, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
- You can count on it! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:02, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
- Nathan. So close though. :P Flakkenmarsh (talk) 16:31, 9 November 2015 (EST)

- Joey Falco alluded to the fact that Malina's name comes from the Inuit story. Cool! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:57, 26 January 2016 (EST)
