Talk:The Watcher

Does anyone else think this guy has invisibility? The way he sneaks up on Chris seems to imply it.--Ratclaws 21:52, 2 October 2009 (EDT)

Chris looks over the rim of his glass of water, amazed when The Watcher materializes in front of his eyes.

This is a clear demonstration of his ability, but what do we call it? It could be any of those mentioned above. I suppose "The Watcher's ability" for now?--Ratclaws 22:16, 28 October 2009 (EDT)

  • I don't think it's a clear demonstration of his ability. Although I think it's pretty obvious he has an ability, I still don't think we've had any concrete confirmation that he's used his ability yet--it can all be explained by being sneaky. Let's wait a bit longer... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:30, 29 October 2009 (EDT)

The Voice

I brought this up after his first message but it was deleted for some reason. Does anyone else think that his voice is really really scary? Josh KorolenkoUTChronicles

  • Very. This guy is the creepy as hell, and quite a sicko.--Ratclaws 23:33, 29 November 2009 (EST)
    • Agree. The voice, by the way, is Zach Wilson's voice. He does a really nice job, both in being creepy, and in writing the story. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:19, 2 December 2009 (EST)

Man it's René all over again

So, after reading chapter 10 of Slow Burn... should we keep this page as "The Watcher", or rename to "Henry"? --Radicell 04:57, 1 December 2009 (EST)

  • I'd say henry. The difference between the watcher (or henry) and the haitian (or rené) is that we've known the haitian (or rené) to be called the haitian for over 3 years, the watcher, only around 8/9 weeks. --mc_hammark 12:33, 1 December 2009 (EST)
    • It's kinda of a Sylar thing. He no longer thinks of himself as Gabrial Gray, just as the Watcher no longer thinks of himself as Henry. The Watcher is who he is, with everything that was Henry left behind. He denys that name when Lydia says it, exactlly how Sylar denied his name being Gabrial to Noah back in season one.--Ratclaws 14:00, 1 December 2009 (EST)
      • My thoughts: "The Watcher" has forsaken his name "Henry". He calls himself "The Watcher". In comparison, Sylar has also forsaken his name "Gabriel" (most of the time). He calls himself "Sylar". In contrast, René has never forsaken the name "René". He has never called himself "The Haitian". As for this page, I think calling it "The Watcher" is just fine. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:18, 2 December 2009 (EST)
        • Good point(s). I suppose most people would look for him as "the watcher" anyway. --mc_hammark 11:25, 2 December 2009 (EST)

To be listed as dead, or not to be listed as dead, that is the question.

At the end of chapter 10 of Slow Burn the player is given a choice to kill him, or let him leave the carnival. Which is the canon ending?--Ratclaws 14:26, 1 December 2009 (EST)

  • Ah, it reminds me of Schrödinger's cat. He is both dead and alive. I chose to leave him alive, as i didn't think chris and gail were the kind of people to kill someone. Although if you let him live, it does bring up another question; he wakes at a bus stop with no memory of the interregation, implying that Damien does have the memory removal aspect of René's ability. --mc_hammark 14:53, 1 December 2009 (EST)
    • But they did set up Mary to be captured so they could escape, and she had done nothing to them. The Watcher blackmailed them, threatened them, forced them to spy on their friends, and kidnapped their daughter. Who's to say what they would and wouldn't do?--Ratclaws 15:30, 1 December 2009 (EST)
      • Well, they didn't know that Mary would be killed, did they? --mc_hammark 15:31, 1 December 2009 (EST)
        • No, but being shot by government agents, and locked up in a secret government building with a shunt in your nose putting you in a coma-like state doesn't exactly bode well for your future. And yeah, it was a snap decisison, but Chris could have just as easily sent Gail, Mary, and Jennie off to escape while he was captured.--Ratclaws 15:37, 1 December 2009 (EST)

Is this the guy that ripped off the guy in The Fifth Stage? The guy that let the girl win? ~~IHHTalk 18:06, 1 December 2009 (EST)

  • I thought about it, but their abilities don't match. But the game operator could be Aviv, they have the same ability. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 18:12, 1 December 2009 (EST)
    • Well I haven't read these iStories, but his page says that he is the milk can toss attedant, so I wasn't sure! ~~IHHTalk 18:14, 1 December 2009 (EST)
    • It's not the watcher, that guy had telekinesis not nerve manipulation, and the watcher is not part of the carnival at all (as told the istory). And it's not aviv as he has a darker skin tone than the Game operator. --mc_hammark 18:23, 1 December 2009 (EST)

A victims page

He's blackmailed a lot of folk and killed others, shouldn't he have a victim's page? --mc_hammark 11:05, 16 January 2010 (EST)

I'm not sure I want to know what it means to be "corned" by many Elis. Yikes! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:04, 22 March 2011 (EDT)
