Screen Width
Folks, is there a way to change this to honor the |thumb| parameter of the Wikipedia images? The images in the galleries are rendering to 200 pixels wide, and the browser is rendering wider than my page resolution at 1024x768 --Orne 17:52, 14 November 2006 (EST)
- It's proving difficult. Unfortunately, thumb only cares about width. Since some of the images used are tall, thumb without forcing the <div> width and height produces all different sizes of images. Our best bet is a gallery, maybe, but they don't use the user's thumb prefs (at least I think they don't).--Hardvice (talk) 02:28, 15 November 2006 (EST)
- Okay, I tried it as a gallery at Portal:Plot Points Test. It works as low as 1024x768 and almost at 800x600. Since it doesn't require table formatting, it'll be easier to re-alphabetize, too, but it does not obey thumb preferences. We can use thumb and specify width and height maximums, but that does basically the same thing: ignores user prefs, and the maximums would have to be set so low that they don't really benefit folks with higher res at all. The gallery is just as good, and a lot easier.
I'll look and see if I can read user prefs with a variable and use ParserFunctions to scale the thumbs to the user's prefs.--Hardvice (talk) 02:54, 15 November 2006 (EST)
Ugh
I cannot get the $^@#^@^# border to display on top of the image without getting wiped out on the right edge by the image link. Anybody have any ideas?--Hardvice (talk) 21:03, 17 January 2007 (EST)
