Template talk:Theoryheader

What's the purpose of the edit links? Every page already has an edit tab at the top of the page, and these don't do anything different. I'm confused.--Hardvice (talk) 15:40, 27 September 2007 (EDT)

  • It's just convention. I'm used to seeing edit links next to section headers, and 'Theories' has traditionally been a section header for theory pages, and I'm used to using that link instead of the edit tab (the edit link worked b4 the new template was installed a few days ago).--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:57, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
    • Yeah, but the section edit links actually do something different from the edit tab at the top of the page. This one doesn't. It just seems redundant and non-standard, especially when you can just double-click the page and get the same result.--Hardvice (talk) 16:16, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
      • Double-clicking doesn't work for me. Is there something I have to enable? Anyways, since there's only really one section on each of the theory pages, it's essentially the same thing. Feel free to rollback my changes on the page if you think it's not work having a link there. I won't mind it being gone that much.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:39, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
        • Enable "double click to edit" in the Edit page of your preferences. If we can make it look exactly like a real section heading edit link (like the "Character Appearances" edit link on episode pages), then it wouldn't bother me as much, I guess. I was just not sure what purpose it served.--Hardvice (talk) 17:20, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
          • ...and it looks like you've done so. That's fine, then.--Hardvice (talk) 17:21, 27 September 2007 (EDT)
          • Thanks, Hardvice. Double-click works now.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:41, 27 September 2007 (EDT)

Red links?

  • I thought we had a way to make this not create redlinks for pages which don't have corresponding mainspace pages? Why is Theory: Mr. Herrera creating redlinks?--Hardvice (talk) 15:57, 18 October 2007 (EDT)
    • If you specify the name when calling the template, it forces the redlink as it should. We fixed Mr. Herrera's theory page so there's no longer a redlink. I also added the link template to the theory itself so if the page gets made the link will automatically be created.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:05, 18 October 2007 (EDT)
